A Must-Visit in El Segundo – Exceptional Service & Delicious Food!
Wow—what a difference a night makes! After a terrible experience at Joey’s the night before, we decided to give Nomad a try, and I’m so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a kind and welcoming host who seated us immediately. The service was impeccable—our water glasses were filled right away, and we were asked if we’d like to order drinks.
Our party had some food allergies, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. They were incredibly pleasant, making substitutions without hesitation and—most impressively—without any upcharges. They took the time to ensure we got exactly what we needed, and never once made us feel like we were an inconvenience.
One small hiccup occurred when our server accidentally forgot to put in the order for the chocolate lava cake (which takes 35 minutes to prepare). But instead of making excuses, she completely owned the mistake, took money off our bill, and even brought us another dessert on the house. Now that is what I call customer service!
As for the food—absolutely outstanding. I ordered the Dine LA special for $45, which included three courses:
• Starter: Roasted cauliflower with turmeric, fresh pita bread, and the most delicious baba ghanoush. • Main Course: Lamb shish kebab, served with tahini sauce, more baba ghanoush, and tzatziki. Since I can’t eat bell peppers, they substituted extra mushrooms instead—no problem at all! • Dessert: A perfectly executed crème brûlée. That first crack of the caramelized sugar? Chef’s kiss.
Every single dish was flavorful, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. Everyone at the table was delighted with their meal. The ambiance was warm and inviting, the service was top-tier, and the entire experience was night and day compared to the previous evening.
If you’re ever in El Segundo, I know it might not be the first place you think of for an amazing meal, but trust me—Nomad is a hidden gem. I’ll absolutely be back the next time I’m in town.
And a special shoutout to our server, Elesia—she was phenomenal! If management is reading this, give that woman a raise!
Keep up the great work, Nomad team!

Read moreThis place sucks! We stopped by before goung to the movies. I was immediately enchanted with the decorum. Very small on the inside, with beautiful repurposed wooden tables, and candle holders. Fresh herbs sitting in pots on the bar, even the water glasses were made from old cut and polished wine bottles. Very cute and clever in my opinion. We were seated promptly, and after a few minutes, the dazed bar tender stopped by to take out order (not the best sign, to me) and ordered two coffees, two desserts, one appetizer, and one Irish coffee. Coffee was stale, our flat bread pizza was burnt, dripping with grease, and needed to be salted, the chocolate mousse topped with wipped cream was grainy and tasted of burned butter, and the caramel apple "fondue" consisted of a half an apple and an grainy caramel sauce. Waitstaff was unattentive, and seemed spacy, we were served our coffe without sugar milk or spoons. We requested sugar from three different people and were finally brought some splenda... :| after asking for a fourth time the bar tender said he would see if he could find some sugar and eventually brought some to the table. Normally I wouldn't rate so poorly, but out total bill was $57. I expect better food and service for such a price. I will not be back, and I will not recommend this place...

First had a sharing of homemade banana bread which was a great start. For appetizers got clam chowder & scallops aguachile. The clam chowder was a stand out for my wife as she likes to try clam chowders. For entrees first started off with the Filet Mignon Risotto, which was speculatar, with the steak being cooked perfectly & being a good portion. The risotto was not overly truffled, & the mushrooms were just right. 2nd entree was the Chimichurri Steak and Eggs, and again the steak was cooked perfectly! The chimichurri was delicious. For drinks got the Sour Monkey Beer, which is probably one of the best beers out there. My wife got the Passion Fruit Spritz, but it was disappointing as it tasted more generic rather than like passion fruit. Also got the Spaghetti bolognese off the kids plates, which was nicely simple & not over-salted.
Our server Alice was awesome & bubbly. The owner Scott also came up to me & you can tell his passion for the food.
Good options for eating for inside, outside with shade, & outside without shade. Also the shared space outside the restaurant is nice to hang out at, with a fountain. Free parking was easy. Planning to return to try more...
