LA CHINA POBLANA MEXICAN RESTAURANT ELIZABETH NEW JERSEY 07202 — Restaurant in Elizabeth

Went in this past Friday the 28th @ 2:30 p.m. over all two starts for the following reasons;

Service- Service could have been better, when my party and I entered the restaurant it was empty and there was no server or host at the front of the restaurant to welcome us and show us to our seats. We had to seat ourselves. When server showed up she was kind and offered us a menu each. Drinks came out within 10 minutes and food came out in a timely manner, what made this rating go down was waiting for the check, our server hardly came out to check on us that we had to stop another server and ask her to call our server to get our check. (Servers should check on their guest frequently). Server was not able to keep the drinks more than half way full.

Food and Price - I had a Mexican Torta one word amazing!!!, to drink I had a Mexican Juice. The Torata was above the national average in price range it cost about $6 dollars (average price in all other states is $4), the Mexican Juice was $5 dollars for a large, once again the highest I have seen in the United States.

For starters was the guac and chips which the guac was very fresh and the chips werent gressy but just right. The entrees were a torta de milanesa de pollo and it was bomb !! On the other hand the burrito de carnitas was a miss for me .. too much fat than the carnitas. I know some people love the fat so if so then this is perfect for you. We both got strawberry smoothies and they were good. Other than that the service was good with taking our otder and bringing the appetizer first and then the food. I usually order for delivery and place big orders so it'll take them about 30 to 45 mins to arrive but I get it at the specified time. Their tacos have a great amount of meat, which I know many places lack in, are flavorful and you can't beat the price. My favorite thing on the menu is the chicken quesadilla, which comes with rice and a salad on the side. For the amount of food that my family and I get it comes out very cheap.
