I wish I could give zero Stars. I know there was a reason that I didn't shop in the store, but since I was in the area waiting for some food I I figured I'd go here instead of waiting until later to go to ShopRite. I have an 11 month old baby that I was shopping with. I have not started putting him in a shopping cart yet because once I tried that he put his mouth on the handle so I keep him in his stroller when I shop. I put all of the groceries in the bottom basket of his stroller and proceeded to go to check out. I can see the security guard looking at me but I didn't say anything. As I get ready to pay for my items the cashier next to me says the next time you shop here you can't put your items in the bottom of the stroller. I said what what do you want me to do with them? She says you have to get a shopping cart. So you want me to push a shopping cart and a stroller. I understand them trying to make sure I took all of my items out of the bottom of the stroller but if you see me take everything out why would you feel it necessary to tell me the next time I cannot do that. I feel like I was targeted because I am black and I never felt more disrespected in my life. I told him they could cancel the entire order I will take my money someplace else. I will never shop...

Lots of Portuguese food, like chorico, lupinis, also regular meat counter, fresh and frozen, they have large bags of frozen gambas, which are huge shrimp, they come with the head still on for those who were brought up eating them that way, you can just remove the head, i said all that about it to tell you that its even better than lobster, just defrost and sautee in a pan add your spices abd turn them over. Yummy. They have a big selection of portuguese style olives in barrels, yes you can taste them all. Portuguese cheeses, they also have regular items not just Portuguese items.The food there moves so fast, i am sure there is never anything stale. They also have all the Portuguese pastries and cakes, cookies, lemon or chocolate rolls pastries. A bunch of registers are always open. The owner Mr. Antonio is super nice and customer oriented. Read moreThe employees there are at the register rush you to leave not knowing that you have to now bag your own things with your back. They don't even give you time to do it. They ask for the money to be paid and next thing, you know, you have your food all over the place and they are rushing you out the door of the store because they want to take care of the person that's behind you. So they don't give you an opportunity to even buy your own things. They are terrible. I would not go there. I would ban this place ,they don't care for you ,all they care is the money, bunch of lazy people, if now you don't have to bag ,then hire people in Elizabeth to work but I know you think you are getting over customer but in the long run ,get the big picture you will start too lose customer soon you will see ,remember we pay you you dont pay...
