AUG 22ND 1st APPT: -9 appt and on time -9:40 was just brought back and still havenāt started -assistant came into room and asked āwhatās her name?ā Vs just asking me -same assistant came in and voiced to the assistant who is prepping the room and setting me up for my appt, āI donāt think they know what theyāre doing?ā Thatās not settling to hear. āIām literally sweating, Iām burning up. Iām stressed out.ā -can tell the drs are rushing -9:52a starting exam and numbing -mentioned I could keep my earbud in to listen to music; thank you for that! -dr barely gave 2 mins for numbing swab to take effect before using numbing syringe -pain was a 4 out of 10; burned some; thankfully some numbing took effect and I have a high pain tolerance -dropped water down my face and neck; didnāt offer a drop cloth to wear or napkin -teeth kinda feeling weird (not a regular numbing feeling that Iām familiar with) no pain though; thatās good -Dr is kind and nice. Mentioned wanting Shaboozey played at her wedding. Iām happy for her. Itās a good song choice doc. -Overall had me in and out; no pain really but a lot of discomfort; got the numbing medicine in the back of my throat at the beginning, let water fill the back of my throat and water spray got on my face and ran down my face, didnāt suction my mouth really only let it hang in my mouth and didnāt or offer to suction/rinse out mouth, my lips feeling dry, cracked, and stretched to where it was uncomfortable -Dr was kind but could tell staff is short handed, overworked, stressed and rushed. -I recommend coming here because their skills are what matter most; but it isnāt overflowing with customer service nor hospitality here. Itās very, āWAM BAM THANK YA MAāAM,ā here.
AUG 30TH UPDATE: A week later and Iāve experienced nothing but severe tooth sensitivity to cold or hot. Jaw aches and pains. Into my ear and neck. Today being the worst pain so far. I called to get a follow up YESTERDAY, in order to see why Iām in so much pain and I have yet to get a response. I have been in pain thatās increased every day since last Thursday. Ibuprofen only helps for so long. Orajel doesnāt help at all and Iāve NEVER had pain after getting fillings done. This is unreal. Very unbearable.
SEPT 6TH LAST UPDATE: I called for a follow up last Thursday and was told 24/48 hrs they reach out. Never did. Front desk called to ask if I was coming in for my next appt the day before (for yesterday), I said yes but not for services. I wanted a transfer referral and my records. I was asked why? I explained the pain I was in; as well as, no call back. They stated theyāre behind in over 200 follow ups and having issues with the system. They did offer to examine me but I declined. If theyāre not able to help me afterwards I donāt want to be left with no advice or service in between appointments and be this uncomfortable and in pain with both sides of my mouth for WEEKS. This kind of jaw pain is extremely painful and causes a lot of discomfort. Itās so hard to chew without pain and the pain wakes me from my sleep and even has kept me from sleeping. When I asked for pain medicine, I was only offered 800mg ibuprofen but I had already been taking and Iām still taking that at home and alternating between that and Tylenol. Itās been over two weeks now. Youāre not supposed to take ibuprofen past 15 consecutive days. Alternating or not. They also confirmed that they knew my fillings were deep and mentioned Iād be experiencing pain for a couple of weeks. If you know something like that, WHY wouldnāt you make the patient aware? Talk about pain management choices afterwards? WHY let your patients be in this kind of agony? At this point I would have rather had the tooth pulled than to be in this much pain. I donāt feel like I was cared for genuinely. I was just another person in line for them to work through and get out the door. Glad I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy experience with them with my 17 year old son was absolutely awful today! Not only did we feel like just another number through a drive thru, but the dr and staff were in such a rush to take his wisdom teeth out and they had a horrible bedside manner. They took him to a small room in the very back past all the kids chairs and play area in an office not geared for procedures like this. The environment doesn't fit the procedure at all. When a kid goes in for a procedure like having all 4 wisdom teeth out and has never had a shot in the mouth, the dr, staff and environment should be welcoming and warm. He was put in the chair and the nitrous gas was almost immediately turned on before I had a chance to even meet and speak with the dr. He asked if I had questions and I stated my concern about him having fainting episodes when in pain or extremely nervous it was disregarded and I was told he would just be laid back in the chair more to prevent that. The assistant (not even sure if she had a degree or experienced) shoved 4 cotton swabs with numbing gel in his mouth and left them there. The dr mentioned the shots and my son became very nervous and when he started asking questions, the assistant shoved a bite block in his mouth and started with shots while holding him down. When my son started screaming in pain and was asking for a minute, they only told him they needed to get it done and the quicker the better. I asked the dr if he could be a little more gentle and he said, "it's a shot, it's gonna hurt and be uncomfortable". He received around 20 sticks with the shots and was shaking tremendously. When they finished and I was able to get him calmed down, I had to go to the waiting room, which he didn't want me to leave him. I went out and about 15 minutes later, he came walking out into the waiting room with the assistant looking completely terrified. I was handed a bag with an ice pack and gauze and instructions and told to make sure he starts saltwater rinses the next day and that his meds are at the pharmacy and to call with questions. Once we left, my son said that while in the back they told him to raise his left hand if he feels anything or needs anything. He said he raised it several times and was told to put his hand down. One of the times he raised it was when he felt the dr crushing one of his teeth and pulling it from the top by using almost all his weight. He said he started screaming and they refused to stop. This was completely barbaric and unacceptable. There is no way that he should have been in and out of there in an hour after having 4 wisdom teeth taken out. He was just another number and received no compassion or anything. My son stated that when gauze was shoved in his mouth at one point, it was blocking his airway and when he tried to say something, the dr told him that thereās a scalpel in his mouth and he needed to be still and would just not bother with the gauze since he couldnāt be still. Really?! He couldnāt breath! I am beyond upset that my child had to go through such a horrible experience and I will make sure people know, as well as our insurance company and our referring dental office, that they aren't fit to be able to do procedures on a rat, much...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFront desk staff unprofessional, disorganized and rude. Had an appointment for oral surgery scheduled over a month or two in advance. Appointment was Saturday, offered Thursday as a sooner visit. Tried to call back but no confirmation so continued with Saturday appointment. Received a confirmation text about Friday appointment.. confused I then call the office to figure out appointment. I call the office from the confirmation text phone number (direct line), someone answers saying āhello?ā like it was their personal phone number. Iām even more confused and ask if it is ruby dental and if Iām speaking with their front office. Trinity confirms it is and she does not normally work the front desk. She only said that Thursday was overbooked so Friday appointment was given. ???? I ask to speak to someone who does since my problem was a little more specific, to clear up my continued confusion. I was placed on hold and never answered again. Decide to just go to the new appointment of Friday despite again no confirmation or communication from the office. Get to office Friday morning, they say they are overbooked after waiting an hour in the waiting room. Told we will get a call back to come in. Receive call back an hour later, talk to someone to confirm I am on the way. Get to office to realize I received a cancellation text after being told to sit in the waiting room. I ask if itās okay to be there and to let them know who I spoke with during the call back. A woman with long dark hair without any eye contact says āwell you should be good thenā, āyup everything should be fineā while looking at her phone. Even the bare minimum of communication in person is like pulling teeth. What an absolute disaster with scheduling and as a practice entirely. Unfortunately this is the only office taking my insurance and it shows how much they care about their patients. Go to Louisville or bardstown instead, the drive is better than the...
