Cringe Worthy, Dated Fiery Show, Poor Service, Bland Taste.
We were there on 05/13/23 right at 1600 with 6 total in the party for the Hibachi dinner. We also joined another party of 3 at the table.
The waitress (female with glasses) promptly greeted us and asked for our drinks of choice, standard procedure.
When she came back with the drinks, we placed our order as the others finished with theirs for the Hibachi grill.
We always have to make sure the waitress, chef, etc know the severe egg allergy sensitivity at any restaurants we go to.
Here at Ginza, we let her know we couldn't eat from the Hibachi and the food needed to be prepared in the back (ordered Chicken Teriyaki from the dinner menu). She wrote it all down and seemed to have understood. We felt very rushed and unattended as she kept looking around to check her other customers.
Then the Hibachi grill chef arrived with all the fixings. He started off with a fire show. Then he started singing Country Road and then Happy Birthday song (not sure if anyone had a birthday then). It was painful to witness as he seemed to struggle. He continued his performance and started making the fried rice. This first batch, he didn't put the egg in it and after he finished, he tried to serve it to us. We cautiously told him no as our food needed to come from the kitchen. Then he made the second batch which included egg, and the show continued and served the rest of the party.
He started with the meat. As it was being cooked, we walked out to the back and came back with another chef. The second chef asked about our situation and we had to tell him again. We told him what we ordered about 5 times as he couldn't remember. At this point, we hadn't gotten the food while the rest of the party enjoyed the rice.
Within a few minutes, the kitchen chef came out with a plate that he quickly put together ($15). IT LOOKED AWFUL. The cubed up chicken cooked in soy sauce was bland and a bit over cooked. The stir fried vegs was also overcooked as it was super soft. The steamed rice was good. The salmon ($9) was HORRIBLE. Again, over cooked, dried, looked like everything was cooked together at one time. Of course we ate it, we were hungry. Ohhh, the waitress brought us Yum Yum sauce and said there was not egg in it. Mayo HAS egg in it (but we knew).
Since we ate with another family, we didn’t want to bring it up until after we finished.
We paid and asked to speak with a manager. She was busy too as she kept answering her business phone. We told her that it was embarrassing enough to have to keep reminding the waiting staff about the egg allergy. Since we already paid, she’d (Hanna) just “take care” of us next time. More than likely, we wouldn’t return.
In sum, we didn’t feel the restaurant took our egg allergy very seriously and...
Read moreUpdated 06-10-22: we have been many times since last review. This is now our favorite. Love the sashimi. Today chose the ginza #b platter for multiple people, with a ton of shashimi, one deep fried roll, and sushi and more. Filling, healthy, clean . Perfect. Tea was a little gritty this time . But sweet tea, so tolerable. But oh wow the shashimi! Updated review 8/12/21... we gave it another try, and was thoroughly impressed during last visit. Therefore, we are going to review at length... Pros: handicapped parking and entrance. Has bento lunch boxes. 5 star southern sweet tea, reasonable lunch menu and sushi options start about $6. Waitress kept glasses full and was available in background both visits. Decor is cool. Hibachi was going at two stations constantly. The sushi .. the Etown is a good cream cheesy type of sushi, the Derby has a teriyaki sauce n spicy /serrano taste yum yum looking sauce.. both were good.. $10 and 11. Both were filling, of good quality. The second visit we had the Derby, the New Zealand, and the Hurricaine. The Hurricaine is a spicy treat, with a creamy finish, however the creamiest is the raw sushi roll called the New Zealand... If you wanna know if you are or ever could be a sushi fan, or want a true raw taste, you gotta try it. If you are a first time sushi goer, you may wanna share this one, just in case you prefer the more americanized sushi.. this would be for the more worldly foody. Loved it! So - I admit I was tough on first review, die to the hostess being unfriendly and too busy to seat anyone in an empty restaurant.. However I found this visit to be extra ordinary service, food, presentation and quality of products, knowledgeable and helpful staff.. I can not begin to tell you how impressed with every step of this dining adventure. My son had been a few times with friends between my visits, and has been trying various foods.. the yellowtail appetizer is awesome, it's fish, that's raw and so meaty yet creamy, if you didn't see it and tasted it blindfolded, , it would remind you of the texture of the best Coby beef.. you have got to try the yellowtail entre! This vist satisfied our foody love, with a knockdown chilled glass of Lychee Saki.. omg.. beyond smooth. If you like a good stock, the miso is a hearty stock with scallion onions on top. Green tea is never a fail. We took two deep fried rolls home with us, as a miso, an appetizer and glass of sake left a roll to share almost impossible to eat. The noodles under the yellowtail appetizer is scrumptious and apparently very filling. Starting to really like this place, appears to be so much nicer and happier than my first visit. Lifted...

Ambiance & Cleanliness
The restaurant was spotless, with a modern yet cozy design that immediately set the tone for an enjoyable evening. The hibachi tables were meticulously clean, and the open grilling stations allowed diners to watch the chefs in action while feeling confident in the restaurant’s hygiene standards.
Service
The staff was warm and welcoming from the start. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring drinks were refilled promptly and checking in regularly. The chef at our table was not only highly skilled but also personable and entertaining, adding a fun flair to the dining experience.
Food Quality & Flavor
The food was the star of the evening. The ingredients were fresh and of the highest quality, evident in every bite. The hibachi steak was tender and perfectly cooked, with a beautiful sear that locked in the flavor. The shrimp was plump and juicy, complemented by a rich garlic butter sauce, while the vegetables retained their crisp texture and natural sweetness.
The fried rice was a standout, expertly prepared with just the right amount of seasoning and that signature hibachi smoky flavor. Sauces served alongside—like the tangy ginger and creamy yum-yum sauce—elevated every dish.
Overall Experience
What sets this restaurant apart is the combination of great food, a clean and inviting environment, and friendly, professional staff who go the extra mile to ensure guests have a wonderful time.
