I took the family in for a family dinner. I have eaten at many Bob Evans and Bob Evans has a special place in my heart. Back in 2010 my father-in-law was in the hospital in St Louis Missouri and we didn't know he was going to make it. I withdrew every dime I had quit my job at a law firm and headed to St Louis. It is there and encountered Bob Evans for the first time. My waitress was amazing and the food was delicious. So I went to this Bob Evans expecting the same experience and I was very very very very very very very very disappointed. The ordering experience itself was fine. I ordered a turkey plate with turkey over dressing and it was supposed to be covered in gravy I also ordered banana bread for the table. My son ordered an omelette and he said it was too eggy. Not enough toppings not enough cheese. My daughter ordered steak and shrimp. The only problem she had with her meal was the knife they gave her to cut her steak would not cut the steak. She ended up having to eat like a caveman. This really embarrassed her and she apologized to the family. Her exact words were I'm sorry guys I know this is not proper we're in public but I want to eat I'm hungry. My wife ordered an omelet and stated that I had too many onions for her liking. We ordered chicken strips for the boys to share and that worked out just fine. Now for my experience... I spent the entire meal with no drink because my server didn't bother to refill my drink when he brought my food. I asked for a refill and he said I got you but he didn't really have me. My dish was cold and I had to have my server take it back add gravy and heat it. That fixed the problem and I was able to eat my dish the problem is my family had to wait 20 minutes for me to eat because I had to wait 30 minutes for my server to come check on me after we had gotten our food. I did not complain to management because my family asked me not to. So if you want a subpar experience with incredibly bad service come to this location...
Read moreLet me preface this review by telling everyone that I have been to Bob Evans restaurants all over the east, this is the single worst one I’ve ever been to. I’ve always considered a treat to be able to eat at a bob Evans restaurant for the first time, so this is what happened on this visit.
I was first sat at a table where I could distinctly smell urine, when the waitress came back I asked her if she could smell urine, and she said she could, she moved us to another table, and we ordered, the food came. It wasn’t particularly hot, very skimpy portions , the food was not cooked very well, and the biscuits were hard and cold. When I told her about it, she said she liked them that way, I really wanted to say something but I didn’t. She said she would deduct something off the bill, but then came back with some biscuits that were reasonable, she didn’t bring any for my wife, even though hers were as hard as hockey, pucks and cold. Also, the gravy that was on the biscuits with some thing like I’ve never had before, and it was terrible and extremely salty. It was really no apology for any of the issues, granted they were not her fault, but she turned around and sat somebody at the table that has a smell of urine without ever cleaning the booth. It was a horrible experience for the price...
Read moreVery disappointed. Out of town visit on 7/13/19 for son’s graduation from Ft. Knox and came here as other restaurant had too long wait. Husband’s steak (medium rare) was raw...gray on outside as though placed on grill, flipped & removed. He never sends food back but did this time. My son & I finished our meal and sat waiting before he ever got steak back (I believe it was at least 30 minutes from time it was sent back—could understand if the place was busy but there were 2 cars in parking lot at 6pm on a Sat night....that should have been a cue for us). There were a handful in restaurant (people across from us waited long time for their meal). Waitress forgot our bread. Steak finally came out and there was no mushrooms & onions with it as when sent back. Service extremely slow. Felt waitress was embarrassed to be working there & felt bad for her as believe issue was in the kitchen. Person who checked us out, not friendly and NO ONE at any time even tried to offer compensation for our troubles/wait, or even really apologized. Won’t return there ever...btw, I grew up in the area so will return to E’town, just not a Bob Evans.
Update 2/2020--Bob Evans was to send a gift certificate to accomodate us...never received it. Very...
