We came here because my cousin is visiting from New York and it was her 80th birthday and apparently this is one of her favorite restaurants.
We arrived late in the afternoon after 4 pm). It's a Sunday, so i already suspected it would be busy. It was a bit packed and busy when we arrived, but then the crowd started to dissipate shortly after. Although it was packed, it was not overly noisy, and we could still hear our own tables' conversation .
I think the price was reasonable, approximately $15 per person, and they even offer discounts for seniors (I dont remember the exact age) and military.
We got a table in the back near the dessert area, and Billy was the server assigned to that area. We actually had to put two tables together since there were seven of us in the party. Billy helped us put the tables together. He was fairly attentive and replenished our drinks when we ran out and cleared the table of plates we were done using.
I had a medium well steak, and it was good, as were the fried Okra. They were hot and fresh, seemingly fresh out of the fryer. The fried chicken was also good. Hot and crispy. The Brussel sprouts were less desirable. They were soggy and overcooked. The butter rolls looked good, but I didn't eat any. The rest of the table enjoyed them.
For dessert, I first tried the ice cream but didn't enjoy it. It seems that it was dairy free, but even worse, it was a bit liquidy. I also tried the cinnamon roll. The flavor was good, but since it was sitting over the heat, it got rock hard and crunchy. I couldn't eat it.
Someone in my party doesn't eat pork, and it seems like a few of the items had pork: greens, green beans, and possibly the rice. It was hard to tell since some didn't have labels. We had to ask our server, Billy, who asked his manager. I think it would be beneficial to have labels with ingredients where practical. This would be especially helpful for those with allergies.
I went for what I wanted and didn't realize I had missed a whole area. It wasn't until I went to the bathroom prior to leaving did I saw the other area.
Speaking of the bathroom, try to avoid it. It was nasty, and the floor was wet and sticky. I turned around expeditiously and waited until I arrived at my next destination to use the bathroom. Although there was a cleaner in there while I was there so it may have gotten clean after I left
Overall, it's not a bad experience, and I will...
Read moreI was very glad this location re-opened after the COVID. It has always been my favorite Golden Corral location for my family in the past for 20 years. After reading the latest reviews during the Covid delta the reviews were good. My family along with myself were still skeptical if all the food was properly seasoned and all the food was warm & not cold. I was vacationing with my family at the Kenlake State Resort Park in Hardin, Ky and driving home after our vacation. I wanted to make double sure that the food would be good. I decided to call the restaurant and Brian the Manager of the restaurant answered. I asked him what all foods were available to eat for the lunch buffet. He was very polite and gave me detailed information of all the food. After the phone call I told my daughter-in-law, wife & son and they said it sounded good. I was still a little bit skeptical. So we decided to give it a try. When we arrived we were totally amazed on how all the food was warm & properly seasoned. The fried chicken, pot roast, tater tots, mashed potatoes & gravey, ribs, meatloaf, chili, sausage, salad, yeast rolls were a 5 star. The ice cream, peanut butter cookies were also very tasty & delicious 5 🌟. The waitress Keya was extremely friendly and professional. She cleaned up our table when we were done eating. Keya also brought extra yeast rolls & filled our drinks for my family and also asked us if we needed anything else. She was a 5 star ⭐️ waitress and I gave her a good tip for the awesome job that she did. Before we left to my amazement the Manager (Brian) came to our table and asked me if I was the Gentleman that called and asked about the food. I said yes. Since Golden Corral re-opened during COVID-19 Delta the food is actually better now than it was before covid started. The Mexican cooks did an awesome job in preparing all the food & all the food was properly seasoned. The restaurant was very clean. Mens & Women’s bathrooms were very clean. This is the best of the best Golden Corral I have eaten for the 2021 year during the Covid-19 pandemic. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that is looking for a good Golden Corral or passing through the area on vacation or business trip to go to his location. Great 👍 customer service. Super good food & seasoned properly along with great customer service from the waitress & Manager. You will not be disappointed. 100% highly...
Read moreI came to the Golden Corral in Elizabethtown, KY (1835 North Dixie Highway) on 22 Oct for dinner. There was a good selection but I was extremely dissapointed with the salad bar selection. I was trying to make a salad. I asked one of the employees if I could have some radishes. There work 6 bags on a cutting board where the employee was filling up the salad dressing containers. I asked the employee if I could have some fresh tomatoes and radishes. The employee looked at me and didn't say anything, turned around and went in the cooler. I waited for over 15 mins and talked to 3 different employees and explained that all I needed and wanted were radishes and tomatoes. When the lady came out of the cooler I asked her again and for the second time I didn't get a response. Finally the Owner (Chris) came out and when I told him (The 4th Person) what I wanted he replied and told me that the radishes were not requirement for thw salad bar. When I told and then pointed out the 6 bags of radishes he quickly said that there was a recall on them I then asked if there was a recall why were they still on the cutting board instead of removing them from plain sight. The owner (Chris) me that the radishes were not something that needed to be offered on the salad bar and that there were cherry tomatoes provided as a substitute. Chris was disrespectful and didn't even give me the chance to respond to him. I was able to ask Chris If there truly was a recall why they out there on the cutting board and just post something on the salad bar or at the cashiers tableto explain that there was a recall. This location had alot of improvements over the past few months and normally the service and selection are excellent but today was extremely dissapointing and concerning. If you do come to this location do so understanding that what you expect is not what you will get. The cashier Lila and Alicia who was working my table were the only bright spot in...
