The Emporia recreational Center is a better place and treats their employees with kindness. Unlike the highly manipulative shallow empathetic psychopathic Billy Erhard at Genesis Health Club in Emporia Kansas.
The girls at counter are no longer required to stand in the same place for long periods of time which is the major reason for extremely high turnover at the Genesis Health Club Emporia Kansas. It is extremely difficult to get to know constantly changing personnel.
Furthermore, Billy Erhard of the Genesis health club in Emporia Kansas has allowed bullies to infiltrate the gym. It is now almost impossible to use a machine in a timely fashion. The new bullies, who are not only a physical danger, hog the machines while going through their social media sitting on the machines for prolonged periods of time.
The Emporia recreational Center has very restrictive hours but there are no bullies and the staff appears to be happy. Furthermore, they have all the machines you would ever need with the exception of one machine. I will be talking with them about that soon.
They are perfidious liars. There is only one defense for liable or slander and that is the truth. I was schmoozed by the disingenuous Manager Billy William Erhard again. He and his staff are definitely NOT candid or sincere individuals. Do not believe anything he and his staff say. Words are cheap. Put everything in writing. As they say: "The secret of success is sincerity. Once you can fake that you've got it made."
disingenuous, fake, fickle, unreliable, untrustworthy, perfidious, impetuous, perpetual pattern of making promises they can't or won't keep, fail to fulfill commitments
I have extensive experience at weight training with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Casey Viator in Deland Florida and Lake Helen Florida at the behest of Arthur Jones. I was also the Weight Lifting Coach for the Kansas University Football Team under Coach Bud Moore.
Now, I am told by staff that I need an expensive trainer to help me finish two negative reps.
What is going on at Genesis Health Club in Emporia, KS? This is disingenuous behavior at best. At worst it is deceit. The staff at Genesis Health Club Emporia KS demonstrate bad faith. If you really are trying to help people then you keep the promises that you make.
I do not believe the folks at Genesis Health Club are dealing with others in good faith or care at all about my health or the health of others!
Furthermore, nobody has ever proffered any positive reinforcement. Yet, on my own initiative. I have lost 30 lbs since Jan 2020 and gained back approximately 5 lbs of pure muscle. Although, the few in my personal life have noticed and mention a dramatic change in my health. Nobody, ever mentions my name or congratulates me on my success at Genesis Health Club. By the way, that is a wasted marketing opportunity for Genesis! You fail to see the forest for the trees. Your clients are one of your best assets.
The folks at Genesis Health Club talk a good talk. Unfortunately, you folks don't walk the walk. Actions, behavior or lack thereof speak very loudly.
Furthermore, the folks at Genesis Health Club in Emporia, KS have employed a known thief who is a full blown psychopath here in Emporia that is also a Undercover Police Informant. The only reason he is not in prison, is because he is a Police Informant. Yet the person in question is on your staff!
Talk about an non family friendly unfriendly environment!
Currently, I am severely disabled. Thank you so very much for the kindness of not helping or caring about me at all here in the "Bible Belt!" Today, Veteran's Day, I have found another severely disabled member who would spot for me. Shame on Genesis Health Club in Emporia KS!
The above demonstrates poor leadership, poor business judgement and a lack of concern for the welfare of the members of our community here in...
Read moreBe aware that their business model seems to be founded on locking you into a contract with no flexibility to cancel. Hence, if a person's situation changes and he/she is no longer able or interested in continuing a gym membership, then Genesis will hound that person for a period of years through collections and court. My personal experience involved a 3-yr contract (I was clearly naive and will not repeat this mistake) that was "frozen" during summer and winter breaks when I was out of town and did not have access to a Genesis facility. They still charged me for the membership dues each of those months with the promise of extending my membership for the same number of months after the 3-yr period ended. In practice, this meant I was paying for a service that I could not use. After 2.5 years into the contract, I could not justify paying the monthly fees because 1) they are expensive and 2) I did not like their cardio equipment set-up and would rather just run outside for free. I asked if I could be let out of my contract since I'd essentially already paid for the equivalent of the remaining months during a time that I could not use the gym. They did not even reply. Due to potential fraudulent activity, my credit card company sent me a new card with a different number than the one that had been used by Genesis to draft my account. Consequently, they could not longer receive the automatic monthly payments without me updating the information. Only then did they reach out to me to identify the issue. Their only offer to end my commitment to them was for me to find someone else who could take over my membership (like a sub-lease on an apartment). There was no mention of compensating me (or a new person) for the months when my membership was "frozen," but I was paying, anyway. They then continued to hound me with phone calls, submitted my membership for collections, and eventually took me to court. I cannot emphasize enough how much I loathe Genesis Health Clubs. A member-centered gym would say, "Hey, we really appreciate your membership, but understand situations change. If you ever decide you want to return to using a health club, then we hope you'll come back to Genesis." Instead, I think they count on a revolving door of ESU students, faculty, and Emporia community members to sign up and over-commit so that they can siphon monthly fees and then take people to court if they can't make payments. I was shocked by how many others were also in court for Genesis, and that was just one day! After my experience, I have heard of many other similar stories. I wish I had been forewarned. Five and a half years after I signed my contract with Genesis (3 years since I asked to cancel my membership!) I am finally rid of them after paying a $150 settlement. I would have rather paid $150 for a social media campaign to warn others of their...
Read moreDishonest sales tactics at my place of work concerning a discount they said we would get on our insurance for having a gym membership that they'd supposedly confirmed with our HR dept, which wasn't true at all. Plus, phone calls after requesting to be removed from list and repeated billing after notice of cancellation for myself, twice and a friend, once.
After multiple contacts on the phone and, two face to face contacts by each of us wanting to cancel we were offered no apologies for the dishonesty or the extra billing cycles. There was no reimbursement, and no solution other than finally cancelling our memberships. They didn't even seem to care at all about what they'd done.
This was after my previous membership years ago where I also had issues with being billed after requesting cancellation, having to go back again months later and request cancelling again, and receiving no reimbursement. I went back with a new membership because I thought it was a fluke... an accidental oversight rather than a standing business practice.
Between those two memberships I was called regularly over a period of 4 or 5 years, after expressing that I was not at all interested and did not want any more phone calls.
I ended up blocking the number they call from because shortly after the most recent cancellation someone AGAIN called to see about reinstating my membership. I was incredulous that they'd even have the audacity to call me again unless it was to offer an apology or reimbursement.
I was going to contact the Better Business Bureau, but honestly it was just better for my mental health to be completely done with them.
Save yourself money by going to Emporia Fitness. They're cheaper, they aren't super aggressive or dishonest, everything is upfront, and I've never had a problem, nor have I heard of one from anyone else I know that used to or does go there now. Their machines also aren't frequently broken down like they...
