Mackay Park — Attraction in Englewood

Clearly the standard for a quality park is crazy low based on the comments I read. Mackay park, commonly referred to as MURDER PARK. its a terrible park. Always trash everywhere, trash bins overflowing, litter galore. On numerous occasions I've seen groups of teen boys emerging from within the park, smelling like marijuana. I've also seen people mistreating their pitbulls and training them to be "tough" which was just unnecessary. Kids running around with no shoes, parents not watching their kids, grown adults yelling/fighting and loudly cursing. Nothing like going to a park in Paramus or Leonia. Oh and dont go here as night approaches because the park is overrun with homeless people sleeping on benches and hoodlums. We live super close and never go here with our kids anymore because the equipment is poorly maintained and falling...

This is a nice park, but the workers can't make up their mind between allowing dogs to walk on leash, and having no dogs at all at the park. I'm a taxpayer of Englewood and I'm disgusted by someone trying to follow me in a red van every time I come to this park, It's quite uncomfortable as a young female to be followed in a red vehicle during the daytime. I see multiple people walking their dogs in the park, I pick up after my dog and my dog is on leash so I don't see what the issue is. Seems like something personal, stay away. The sides outside the park say no dogs allowed but then there's another sign that says keep dogs on leash, which one is it? I've been walking my dog here for three years and no one's ever said anything, up...

Update: im glad the playgrounds are being updated. New public gym equipment and the brick arch has been repaired. I wish the playground had seating and a little bit more shade. No nearby bathrooms so plan for that.

The waiting area is a hot mess. Kids, skaters, moms and snack foods everywhere. There are cubbys for shoes and lockers for valuables(bring quarters for lockers). Public sessions for ice skating is pretty decent. There are resting benches for skaters, and kids seems to really have lots of fun. But there are a lot of kids falling everywhere. For an hr or two of fun, this was worth it. They should really fix the sound system cause it was just spazzing out and...
