Englewood Public Library — Attraction in Englewood

My daughter and I started going there two summers ago for Miss Michelle's music time on Fridays. She is wonderful and the children's section is very nice. The library itself has interesting architecture and is open in the center like the Guggenheim Museum. I have one criticism and it is the ogre lady librarian on the upper most level. After music time, my daughter likes to climb the stairs and sit on the bean bags in the Teen section on the top floor. This whole event takes no more than 10 minutes, but this territorial librarian comes to yell at us as soon as we reach the top floor. She tells us we are being too loud for no reason. This happens every time we go, but my daughter is not being loud and everyone else is talking and making noise. Also there was someone exercising in the aisle right next to us and this ogre librarian had the nerve to yell at us and not him???? She is one...

I’ve been to 12 of BCCLS libraries and this experience has by far been the worst! I registered for a children’s event and when I arrived late the doors were closed and we were not allowed in. Michelle proudly told me she gave our seats to another family. Thanks Michelle. This review is for other moms who have to rush home from a full time job, get multiple children fed and out the door and arrive 10 mins late. You need to know ahead of time which libraries NOT TO VISIT. There are so many other branches who understand twin mom parenting timing struggles and don’t that shut you and your children out. Tenafly, Bergenfield, Westwood, Emerson.. all great. Probably the same policies but are all more understanding. All amazing children events. Trust me, go...

its ok. i went here regularly and 5 minutes after opening every seat would be taken, so i suggest u go early too. the NOISE and the staff are hella irritating. how u gonna work at a library and be loud? and when kids run up and down the stairs and scream and laugh, they dont bother to shush them. they just laugh along contributing to the noise factor like 😒... yall better bring headphones or sm...
