If anyone can attest to the absolute AWESOMENESS of Sunshine Pottery and its respective owners, Alice Small and Alan Fuchs, it is certainly me.
A few years ago, I wandered into their establishment searching for the “perfect” Christmas gift—which I easily found…and so much more.
Flash forward to New Years Day 2020 at MetLife Stadium, Siyum HaShas. As an Premium Services employee there, I ended up writing a post (that apparently went viral) based on my personal experience that very day which ultimately spoke of my affection for the Jewish community. Subsequently, some children at a Yeshiva mailed me a beautiful heartfelt card of thanks for the gesture—and the cycle of love began…but did not end there.
I reached out to Alice immediately for her “suggestions”…which she apparently took to a whole different level. After some incredible brainstorming, Alice volunteered to prepare a massive Shaloch Manot (gift of food)—the likes of which I’m sure the children and staff will probably not see again. Every detail was executed to perfection; every ingredient/decoration/color combination brilliantly coordinated. To quote one of the students: “It was what dreams are made of”. It doesn’t get any better than that!!
Alice and Alan generously offered to make the delivery to the school that day—and because of the size of their hearts, insisted that their work and time not be compensated monetarily. Theirs was truly the definition of the consummate labor of love.
If there is any shop you are curious to frequent, look no further. Their passionate creativity is equally matched by the sum of their business ethic—the heights of which you will rarely see. Not only did I find life long friends…but I will never have to comb the malls again during the holidays. One Stop Shopping…Absolute Delight for the Recipient AND...
Read moreI have never wanted to write a bad review until I called this establishment (and I've never written a bad review). Never have I ever received such rude and disgusting behavior. I found this place on google and decided to call to get information. I called asking the person on the phone more information on how their studio works and if I have to set up and appointment or is it a walk in? The person on the phone with such a bad attitude responds back "no, its not just walk in" well sir or ma'am that is why I am calling and asking! I should have just hung up there but I gave the person on the phone the benefit of the doubt, maybe they heard me wrong. I proceed to say I would like to set up an appointment and the person respond complaining about the holiday weekend and its going to be very busy. I then asked if they had afternoon maybe 12ish available because the person said they were going to be very busy so I don't know their schedule I'm just throwing out times. THE RUDE PERSON ON THE PHONE THEN responded back with no it's not 12ish... that is when I told the person forget it, I will take my business else where. Where Im not being a "bother". If I could I would give 0 stars!!! They don't deserve the 1 star. If this is the owner maybe look into another career if your so bothered by potential customers and if this is just a worker I hope the owner really thinks about...
Read moreMy daughter made a special project for her grandparents who were visiting from abroad. Alice was so patient, even though we were at the store just a few minutes before they were supposed to close, she took her time with my daughter to make sure that all the colors were chosen correctly. She patiently showed us how to paint the project at home and gave us a lot of tips and equipment to make sure it came out the best possible. We are so happy with the result! My daughter had made pottery projects before elsewhere, however we had never experienced this level of care and involvement from the owners. They realized that the timing was very important for us, and though (as I learned) firing up the projects is time consuming, they were still able to get our project back on time! One thing I will point out to customers coming for pottery projects: the projects do seem a bit expensive, however it took me the whole process to realize how much the price includes - The pottery, the paint and equipment, the glaze and all the labor included in preparing it for firing up, and of course the actual running...
