About 30 good size shade trees (mostly maples and ponderosa pine) in the two square block park, half of them forming a line along the north side. Very few of the benches have shade so it's good to bring your own lawn chair or blanket. Some spots have decent views of Mount Rainier. Looks like the west end of the park is not used much. The two playground sections appear to be new equipment. The sheltered pavilion with a couple of picnic tables is wheelchair accessible, and there's at least a half mile of asphalt wheelchair accessible trail around and through the park. It's mostly flat, with a decent looking baseball back stand etc in the northeast corner. I see one basketball backstop. July 2022 a single porta potty at the Southwest corner of the park next to the parking lot, last service 8 days ago and overdue. Otherwise, no restroom. Looks like the neighbors use all of the 15 or so parking spaces except the 2 handicap spots, considering that there's really nobody here right now and all the parking is full. Very little shade for parking on the street. Grass is in good shape in the third week of July. Nice 12 ft cedar "totem pole"-style carving by Oliver Nichols in 1971...
Read moreFantastic, almost-but-not forgotten park with two playgrounds (one newer and an older, smaller one especially great for toddlers) including swings; picnic gazebo; basketball hoops; baseball field with backstop; bumpy but paved path around perimeter perfect for pedometer moms and young riders (path NOT smooth for skateboards/scooters but other concrete areas are); plenty of shade and open areas; a lone soccer goal sans net perfect for imaginative family kick arounds. Bathroom building hasn't been operational for a while (years?) but always has decently clean port-a-potty stationed next to it so you may avoid relieving yourself publicly, though, not recommended for...
Read moreNice, relaxing park. The illustrated story trail is a nice touch, and I like the walking loop (which is why I go here sometimes). I wish there were a proper bathroom, but this park isn't too far away from businesses.
Watch out for a section of uneven path near the houses at the back of the park. Also, for you geocachers, there is one here as of...
