Longhorn Liquor Mart — Attraction in Estes Park

I went last week while on vacation in Colorado. I searched the web and called ahead (limited time available) to help determine the two stores that I wanted to shop on our trip. I spoke to Christie on the phone and immediately knew this was one stop for me. I told her I was a bourbon lover and looking for something special/ unique for the trip. She discussed their selection of bourbon and whiskey and that they have a section just for Colorado spirits. I arrive at the store and I must admit that I was impressed with the selection. Plenty of excellent options of great bourbon in the $30-$100. The man behind the counter asks what I’m looking for and off we go on a 15-minute educational conversation about the bourbon they have. Turns out this was Matt, the owner, and he was a pleasure to talk to and a wealth of knowledge. I learned a lot about the Colorado bourbons and walked out with a Barrell Bourbon Single Barrel Pick and Michter’s 10 from off the shelf! The owners of this store are the nicest people. We come to the area once a year and we always pick up some gin from a distillery in Boulder. If visiting Boulder is not part of our plans for the trip, I call Rambo's ahead of time and they will place a special order for us, so we can just drop in and get our liquor. When I called asking for 2 bottles each of 2 different products, they suggested that getting 3 of each might be a better value. Since this is the only time we can get the stuff all year, we might as well get the extra. I gave permission to order 3 if it meant a better price, and when we got there 6 today bottles were waiting for us. They also have a wide selection already in the store, with several products local to Colorado....

Great locally owned liquor store with a HUGE selection of wine, whiskeys, and other spirits. Lots of great microbrew selections too for beer drinkers, as well as domestics. Yes, the grocery store sells beer, but nothing compares to a local business who will take the time to help you find what you need and answer questions! Shop local for your alcohol needs! Nothing beats the personal service at Rambo's! And ya know what? Rambo's prices are the same as the grocery store if not better! Grocery stores in CO don't carry hard...
