Lake Estes — Attraction in Estes Park

Beautiful and peaceful lake. We spent a couple of days at the Stanley and my husband fished both days, but unfortunately he did not catch any fish. My daughter and I sat at the edge of the lake and watched the ducks and a bald eagle flying overhead. It was pretty warm in mid August 2023, but if I would’ve had a chair and my paints I would’ve loved to have sat there for hours to just enjoy the peace and quiet side of nature. This is a beautiful lake to visit if you like biking (there is a trail around the lake) boating (the views are awesome even though it's in the middle of estes park) and fishing. I know there are rainbows and tiger musky in this lake. If you want to simply go to have fun and catch fish no matter the size, the far western shore is a good place to catch rainbows.
