Went from $35 to $90 per month in three years for 100 speed internet. I wish social security went up like that. Never called them after setup for any reason. Seen their door to door sales people going to neighbors. I have my own gigabit modem. I have Comcast in OR and it has been at $50 for a decade, even after speed increases. Was no competition in Eureka. FOLLOWUP - based on the "response from owner" I exchanged email with "Brand Reviews" who explained that my rate was increased again because the enhancement fee went up and credits expired. The rate for Internet 100 is $90 + $6 NE fee minus $5.00 for paperless ebill. Upon the arrival of Vero Fiber, speed jumped to 1000 at the same $91 per mo., but I'm switching to 300 at $50, more speed than needed for two seniors who both stream audio and video and save $41 a month. Goodbye. ... Still submitting bills after cancelling on a phone call with assurance the cancellation process was complete. Deleted that virtual credit card to stop perversion.

❌ 8/2025 Optimum filed Bankruptcy… That’s why they’ve been raising our bills… Scammers…

❌ 8/12/25 I’ve seen the same commercials for weeks 500 times a day. Every 5 minutes!!!

Attention: Cancel Everything Optimum… They are completely dishonest.

❌8/12/25 I Hate Optimum… They give you credits then they remove them after they give them to you. 3 hours on the phone. 7 different agents. Never again. It’s happened several times. Don’t trust them… Calling them is a nightmare… Reported BBB.

❌❌❌ The programming is Horrendous… Turn up the volume on your channels…

❌❌❌ STOP HARASSING PEOPLE WITH YOUR EXCESSIVE COMMERCIALS OPTIMUM!!! WE DO NOT PAY FOR THAT!!! STOP!!! On every channel…

❌ It’s the same commercials over and over…

14 commercials every 5 to 6 minutes. I just MUTE it or turn it OFF

Stop attacking other phone carriers.

I pay AT+T $70 a month Not $122 Optimum Lies…

They just raised everyones internet bill. They need $$$. Do not trust any of their promotions… Eureka, Ca We want our bill amount back to where it was!!!

❌ Stop playing those SLOTS / Jackpot Party / Goldfish commercials to death!

My cellular internet with AT+T works just fine… Do you really expect people to pay for the internet twice…

❌❌❌ WAY TOO MANY COMMERCIALS!!! WTH!!! On EVERY single channel!!! That’s how Optimum makes money. They’re total scammers…

Local is not BIG TIME… We live in a small town. Basic Cable is $188 a month. Optimum is the only cable provider. They take advantage of people.

❌ Don’t get their Cable TV. Optimum will bombard you with their commercials. The programming is horrible.

❌ Channels have 10 - 16 commercials every 6 minutes. Does Optimum need money from Advertising… What a ripoff. Total SCAM. We’re paying for ENDLESS COMMERCIALS.

❌ There’s a reason Optimum is 1/2 the price of AT+T - Verizon. It’s Horrific. AT+T doesn’t harass you like Optimum does. AT+T hasn’t raised my bill in 40 years. Optimum will raise your bill in a year or less… Read the fine print. It’s so small, you can’t read it.

❌ Calling Optimum is a nightmare.

❌ Turn up the volume on your cable boxes… Fix the sound on your channels. We have to pay for this. Lower the price on your cable TV or fix it. Stop ripping people off.

❌ Don’t do it. They tell you they will charge you one amount and then they charge you something else. All information given to me was false.

The Optimum agent(S) don’t take responsibility for anything. They just pass the incompetence around. Hours on the phone and I wasn’t even a customer yet. Calls are recorded. Useless.

I was told there would be a promotion price for the tenants in our newly constructed building. It didn’t happen.

They’re trying to force me to buy internet, which I don’t need, If I don’t buy it, they said, they won’t give me Cable TV… That ended up being totally false information given by… Leslie Munoz and her Supervisor / Resident Executives. They get Commission. Couldn’t get a hold of their Manager, even though he just got back from vacation. I was given several different prices and the wrong information.

Finally… A woman in the Retention Department helped me.

5 agents 2 hours on the phone. No one knows what’s going on. Every single person tells me something different.

This has been a total Nightmare. Their unprofessionalism and inconsistency has caused so much unnecessary stress. Don’t believe a word they tell you.

I don’t know how it’s possible, They’re worse than Suddenlink.

Finally, a positive experience. Thank you Retention Department for taking care of me when no one else did. I wouldn’t have service if it wasn’t for you.

Optimum is so inconsistent, Every time you talk to someone, it’s like talking to a different company. It’s a nightmare.

They sent my first bill to the wrong address. They play the same reruns over and over.

Don’t do it… I hope they go out...

Every time I call it is a 20 minute wait or longer. I have to call multiple times because right around 20 minutes of waiting for some sort of customer service the call gets dropped. And then I have to call back to start over and jump back in line. I recently increased my Internet service, was told that they would send me out a new modem for the higher speed Internet. It never came. Called them back a week and a half to two weeks later and they told me a technician needs to come out to set up a new modem. They scheduled me for a technician to show up and the technician never came. I called back A week and a half to two weeks later to talk with the supervisor and complain about the service that I received. The person I talk to you was nice but less than helpful. When asking to talk to a supervisor who was “busy“ The person on the phone said to let him try to help solve the situation. 10 minutes of talking about what i has gone through the last month, what I wanted and needed with my internet and waiting for a supervisor and He did not get me a modem in the mail or a technician scheduled. Just wasted my time. through my frustration I talked about wanting to cancel my service with Sudden Link. and just deal with everything through my cell phone carrier because that is better than nothing due to the frustration of the service that they provide. Then he asked me what cell phone carrier I have and And proceeded to try to get me to switch over to their cell phone service. I told him with the service that Has been provided By his company just to get faster Internet at my house what makes him think that I would want to try to get cell phone service through them. I told him I was not interested in cell phone service and just wanted to talk to a supervisor to complain about not getting any service. He then put me on hold to wait for a supervisor and the call dropped. At this point I was so frustrated that I called to cancel my service. I told them why I wanted to cancel which is stated above and then magically they were able to get a technician out the next day and the modem and get me all squared away in 15 minutes. The only thing It took to get that was a month of frustration to be able to talk to someone who could actually help me. Fast forward a week and a half later and I call again for support get put on hold 20 minutes after being on hold call drops. Long wait times and call droppings seem to be a thing for this company. EDIT: This review is for the previous owner: “Suddenlink.” I’d give Optimum 4 or 5 stars 👍🏼

Professional Liars via telephone, though “Robert Cummings, Supervisor” says he can’t control Humboldt “contract technicians” manipulating & misrepresenting reports of work:

  1. Service call made 11:03 pm July 11. Told tech will arrive “tomorrow” 8-12. No show.
  2. Called back July 12 at 12:12 pm to hear service is next day 8-12. No show.
  3. Called back & was told of False Report by local contract tech who knocked on the wrong house’s door and lied about trying to call me when I didn’t answer the door of the house that was not my address. I was assured by Suddenlink that tech would return TODAY and I’d get a call to confirm. All Lies!
  4. Called at 4:02 and was told there is no record of those details of my conversation and that my appointment had been rescheduled for July 15, four days after service request made. I waited to be connected to a “supervisor” but was cut off after I was told I was being connected (20 mins).
  5. I called back and waited again another 20 mins to be connected with Robert Cummings. He said Suddenlink has no control over the local contractors in my local area and whether or not they do their jobs or lie about doing their jobs, though was sympathetic and said he’s noted my account with his conversation so he can follow up on another no-show or false work report. I learned from him that Installation (which found me and wired me from the source!) is a different branch than the contract service techs.
  6. Waiting all day again on July 15 for Suddenlink - we’ll see...
  7. I supposed I can close my own front door now. I’d been leaving it ajar in anxious awaiting! Monday morning the tech arrives and is lost, unable to find the actual line into my own dwelling, not the neighbors’ lines!
