Horrible. I booked 2 rooms. We asked if there were any issues We should know about...owner said no. The rooms, we discovered were far below the standard We expected according to Pricelines description...in fact they lied about quality. We are seniors traveling together. We were disappointed and we had a long day so we went to eat, came back and then discovered that the heater in one room did not work...and in the other room barely worked. We asked for a space heater or something..no, had not. We asked to be moved...no can do. We asked for refund so we could move to another motel. Owner said no...then said if we checked out One room would be refunded but not other (we are traveling together for safety and medical issues)...I protested since we booked 2, together...he argued with me would not refund. Each horrible room cost $100. with tax! So, when this senior got angry and said he didn't uphold his part of the agreement and protested again...he kicked us out still not refunding our money. Priceline seemed to think that was OK. I am done with priceline for allowing this to happen and not upholding their guarantee. Police said my only course of action is a civil court case...which I cannot afford. We ended up moving to another motel....and am still angry. Since when do service providers think they have the right to abuse and overcharge people..then kick them out into the elements at night for getting angry and raising voice. J am throughly my disgusted. Also...this owner said he just bought the place and it was no longer An Americas Best motel, as Priceline described, and there were mattresses leaning up outside the buildings and homeless people were camped out in the lot area. We have an incident report from the police...and can provide the number if anyone wants it....and...
Read moreEureka Village Pantry is one of those restaurants that always feels like home the moment you walk in. It has that classic, welcoming diner atmosphere where you know you are going to get good food, friendly service, and plenty of it. The place has been part of the community for a long time and it shows in the steady flow of locals who clearly consider it a favorite. It is the kind of spot where you can sit down with friends, bring family, or come in solo and still feel comfortable.
The menu is packed with hearty choices and everything I have tried has been consistently delicious. Breakfast is especially great here, with huge portions, fluffy pancakes, perfectly cooked eggs, and crisp bacon that makes it hard to resist. Their omelets are stuffed full, and the biscuits and gravy taste like real comfort food done right. Lunch and dinner are just as satisfying, with classic burgers, sandwiches, and homestyle meals that hit the spot every time. The portions are more than generous and you always leave full.
The service is another reason I keep coming back. The staff are friendly, down to earth, and quick to make you feel welcome. They keep your coffee filled, check in without hovering, and create that small town feel that makes the whole experience better.
Eureka Village Pantry is not trying to be fancy, and that is exactly what makes it so good. It is honest food served with care in a place that feels like part of the community. Every time I eat here, I am reminded why it has built such a strong reputation over the years. For anyone looking for a solid, satisfying meal in Eureka with great service and a comfortable atmosphere, this is one of the best...
Read moreBetween the Holiday Inn and and the Motel 6 sits it's an American food sit down restaurant with an all day menu with a view of highway 101. Inside are two rooms divided with tables and chairs and cramped booths. With a large menu from biscuits to steak and a glass case full of cream pies and huge cinnamon rolls you should find some item of comforting food for yourself. The friendly wait person was immediate and took our drink orders, a bottle of IPA and water. They checked a couple of times when we were ready to order our tuna melt with tater tots and burger with fries. Our order took longer than you would experience at IHOP, but the quantity of potatoes was greater and the burger meat was accurately cooked to medium rare. However, a patty melt was brought out rather than tuna. I requested Dijon and was offered honey mustard, I accepted. Plenty of pickles and lettuce, one small tomato slice. Classic rock drifted out of the kitchen and a person in the next booth was coughing up a lung while we ate. Framed pictures of vegetables on the walls, like eggplant belied the lack of vegetarian entrees on the menu. We left quickly and did not buy any of the large numbers of postcards on display next to the modern cash register where we paid while standing and listening to the laughing banter between the wait and cook persons. We might go back for...
