Atmosphere Collectibles — Attraction in Evansville

It’s rare in my experience to find a store that changes your life. But I did just that a little over a year ago when I accidentally stumbled into Atmosphere Collectibles - Record Store. I’d been feeling a little depressed, old and decrepit, starting to have health issues. I’d found a few of my old albums in storage from my teenage years. And decided to search out the ones my kids had snatched over the years. As soon as I walked in the door Ashly’s smile told me I was in the right place. She and Jerome helped me find almost all the albums on my initial list and then they started making suggestions! So I bought a few I’d never heard of. Went home and was very happy. Then I discovered that the two of them hosted YouTube videos almost every week of new and used arrivals! Watching that I found more treasures I needed. So I went back a week later. And what did Ashley say? “Hey if you like that? Have you ever heard this?” So I took home a few new to me bands. Then I went back 3 days later. What started out as trying to relive my childhood, turned into broadening my horizons in ways I never thought possible. Then I started meeting other customers. Now my wife and I are part of this small wonderful community that loves music and just hanging out and spending time at Atmosphere Collectibles. Thanks Ashley and Jerome...

I have been to multiple record stores all over Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio, and I have to say that Atmosphere has become my favorite. Their selection is quite good and always growing, and their prices are some of the best I've encountered -- always fair. The owners are kind and extraordinarily helpful, and I can tell that they are passionate about music and genuinely care about their customers finding the records they want. If they don't have what you're looking for, they will do their best to get it. They recently came through for me some Bowie records that I have never encountered anywhere else. They make an effort to get to know their customers, which is greatly appreciated. They are also honest, and their knowledge of music of all genres is exceptional. They post unboxing videos on YouTube when they get new shipments, so you can always stay updated on new stock. I can't recommend Atmosphere enough! If you're in the Evansville area, this is easily the best record...

One of the friendliest & most helpful record stores I've visited. The two owners, Jerome & Ashley, were great at providing information about their store but I mostly enjoyed the casual conversations with the two of them. I had only been in there for less than 5 minutes, and Ashley made me feel like I was a well-known customer by candidly offering me a cup of coffee (of course, I accepted). It was also fun chatting with Jerome about music (particularly the band UFO) and getting an idea of his musical background, as well as learning some new tunes (UFO's first album was playing in the store and it's legit!). A majority of their selection is used vinyl, but unlike some stores you'll find notes on each used record indicating cover quality, vinyl quality, and the pressing. I appreciated this simple, yet very helpful addition to the shopping experience. I come down to Evansville every now & then for work, and I'll be sure to stop by this place every time...
