Old Fashioned Butcher Shoppe — Local services in Evansville

I'm so excited we have a butcher shop! It's just a different experience. They have meat you won't find in a grocery store, the guys inside are friendly and helpful, and as everyone has mentioned the prices are great. I got chicken leg quarters at the same price as Aldi's recent sale price on thighs, and it's better quality. They have pork belly and pig's feet, both of which are essential for good ramen but very hard to find in grocery stores. (If you don't see something, ask because they might have it in the freezer in back.) I also tried their New Zealand goat stew meat with bones. Oh my goodness.... it's like how you always think meat is supposed to taste only it usually doesn't. I always get pork sausage here to make sausage biscuits for breakfast... it's like McDonald's style but better. My son is raving about their bacon. "Beautiful and aromatic," he says, and declares he will eat no other bacon ever again. I have not finished exploring this great place but for meat lovers like us it's a godsend, that's already clear. I love this place. Great prices, great staff, great products. The merkeley bbq pit ham they sell is priced to move but it is so good and you'll crave it after you've had some. I love their bacon stuffed burgers as well, which you can apparently get year round except sometimes they're frozen, but still just as amazing, we'd know. They also have a baked potato salad which I've had something similar to and then the store I used to buy it at stopped carrying it and I've looked ever since for something like it. I decided to give this place a shot as I am becoming more aware of the type of food my family eats. I have to say this place is by far bar none the best here in town. Instead of spending $200 a week on groceries we go here with exactly $300 and we buy enough beef chicken and pork to last well over a month.
