Dollar General — Attraction in Evansville

Very slow service, rude cashier particularly the cashier on 9-18-2017 at 10:19am. My father, who is an older gentleman on a walker, parked in the handicapped spot right in front of the door, sent me in to purchase one pack of Marlboro Light cigarettes. I did not have my ID with me so I needed to step outside the door to get his. She then told me if it's his id he has to come in with an EXTREMELY POOR attitude. I got to the door and motioned for him but I stopped him when I respondents how much of an attitude she had. I'm sorry but the man is 87years old, on a walker, and I a m 48 years old myself. Now she could have taken 2 seconds to look out the front door and watch me get his id. I decided I'm NOT going to make him get out of the van and come in just for that, ESPECIALLY with her attitude. I told her never mind just put them back and we then went to Edco. You may not think this amounts to much right now, but trust me, it most certainly will. My father, as well as myself, USED to be very good customers since this location was in my neighborhood. In spite of the fact that the store is always a mess, boxes everywhere in the way, and you have to stand in line and wait for a cashier to finally make it up there. Neither one of us will ever be back. Plus my father has a tendency to tell others of all his bad experiences with local businesses. Oh, although I did get the cashiers name, she has short, dark, curly hair and running the register at 10:19 am on 9-18-2017....

Overall experience was very good. Except that the one item I really went there to buy, they didn't have it. Other than that the clearance aisles are always a disaster and kind of overwhelming to look through plus anytime I have found an item I wanted in the clearance aisle, there's never a price posted or a price tag sticker with clearance price and I hate having to ask an employee to keep looking up prices so I just end up not buying any of it. But Diamond Ave store is not only store with clearance aisle issues. Every location I have been is same way. I understand being cluttered and unorganized because people shopping cause that mess but putting a price tag with the clearance price on those items would be very helpfu....l Sorry for such a...

I had no trouble finding what I needed. The store is organized. The service was nice, friendly and quick. This Dollar General store is easy to get to and large parking area. Very visible. Parking for handicap. Next to a Subway Sandwich Shop if you're hungry. Ollie's Bargain Barn across the street with other shopping stores. There is a Meat Shop about 1block South. A library. The Dollar General store offers great prices and great choices! I buy a lot of household needs here, as well as, toiletries. Very reasonable prices! I always buy greeting cards at Dollar General stores. You can't beat the price and they are very nice, thoughtful cards for every occasion. Equal to the bigger...
