This is hands down my favorite market in the area! I love the layout, with the library central and then "spokes" of vendors off of it.
There are so many excellent vendors. I love the variety! First stop by the First Federal Savings Bank tent and get a free bag, because you're going to fill it up. Make sure to also get a fresh drink and then dive in. The baker vendors are all so good I absolutely cannot pick a favorite. I have loved every single baked good I've gotten. The produce vendors always have the best fruits and vegetables, both staples and some unique varieties. The flower vendors are STUNNING and you will want to buy every single arrangement. The crafting vendors have gorgeous, hand crafted, local pieces and aren't just the standard MLMs. The food trucks and carts are really outstanding. Miller's BBQ nachos are my favorite, but we have tried and enjoyed several vendors. There is usually a booth with adoptable animals from from humane society, and many people do bring their (very well-behaved) dogs. Recently there has even been a musician set up playing, which creates the most wonderful ambiance. If you get overheated or need a restroom, just pop in the library before heading back out again.
I go every week and 100% recommend this market to anyone in the vicinity. It's worth driving an hour or...
Read moreHad a long July 4th weekend in Evansville, visited this festival this past Saturday, didn't really see anything I couldn't live without. Neat that they had the outdoor yoga. I do think this should be a dog free event though. I am an animal lover we have 1 dog 3 cats and 2 fish but this isn't the place for them. What happens if there's a dog fight or someone gets bit? Or a large dog jumps on someone (elderly, small child) and knocks them down? It happens when dogs get excited sometimes. My dog is 95 pounds.... Wouldn't be so cute then, its not a dog park. Some people are also scared of dogs, plus there's vendors selling food....Also I felt the produce was priced a bit high, but I'm from Tennessee and it's cheaper here maybe more plentiful? Not sure I'm not a farmer. It is a nice set up and a fun little walk around on a Saturday morning. Hopefully the vendors make a good profit for spending their...
