This was my first time trying German food and it was awesome. I tried the German-style goulash and it was delicious. It came with cornbread which I'm now kind of obsessed with. Although it doesn't look like normal cornbread, it had that familiar cornbread taste, and instead of being dry and crumbly, it was fluffy and moist. SO good! It also had a nice kick to it, which was unexpected but really pleasant. The goulash was very rich and well seasoned. Perfect comfort food. It came as beef chunks (stew style) with mushrooms in a gravy sauce, all laid over spätzle. The spätzle had a texture very similar to gnocchi or the dumplings you'd find in chicken & dumplings. We also tried their appetizer sampler, which included kraut balls, ham rolls, a potato pancake, and fried oysters, which we subbed for fried pickles. All were pretty good and unlike anything I've ever had before (beside the pickles.) Definitely worth trying if you want to expand your culinary horizons! The restaurant was pretty busy when we went, and I actually had an issue where our waitress misheard my order. However, she was very kind and got me the right order lightning fast! I was really impressed since they seemed to be pretty well packed that night. Overall I had a great experience here, and am excited to go back! (Especially for that cornbread. I don't know what it did to me but I've been craving more ever since! 🤤)

Great place for good German food and great selection of all sorts of beers on tap. The wait staff was very friendly and we were very thirsty and our waitress kept up with us and kept our glasses always full. We ordered the sausage sampler appetizer and the sausage platter for our dinners and the kids had kid's meals that were very good and the price was great. The sausages were very flavorful. They are in a natural casing which gives you that nice snap when you bite into them. The Mettwurst ring was not as spicy as I like but their Bratwurst more than made up for it. Normally brats in the US are fairly blandand flavorless but the Bratwurst here had amazing flavor and are the best I have had outside of Germany. The knockwurst was very tasty and the Berliner Mett was a very mild Mettwurst. The Kielbasa was a very good like ada especially when grilled. The spaetzle was very hearty with a good, solid beef gravy. Their sauerkraut was okay but I prefer real fermented kraut to the vinegar kraut most Americans are used to; at least it had caraway seeds in it which is very common in Germany. We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere and will be happy to drive down from Bloomington to eat here when we want a good German meal.

Absolutely HORRIBLE!!!!! I have never been so disrespected in my life!!! You would think and a so called 5 star restaurant that has been in business so long would treat there customers with a little respect, but I was wrong!!!!! After I ordered 65 dollars worth of food I arrived home to see that it was missing items, called them said order was wrong I will bring it back in exchange for a fresh order they apologized said bring it back. Upon arrival they had no food for me and said all they will do is replace one meal. I explained that it is all now cold because I had to come back across town they said not there problem I should have left the rest there and just come for what was wrong. I explained that we eat as a family I am not going to come back home eat by myself. I explained to the very rude manger Megan that I called and you told me that you would replace it, she said not her problem and again refused to remake my order. Then some smart mouthed kid of a bartender started his mouth in on me!! A paying customer not to mention 20 years his elder!!! Finally I asked for a refund. Never have I been so disrespected or disappointed in my life. As far as the food I can't say how it tasted, for they outright refused to make it. I will get in touch with the owners, and a update to...
