Marilyn Boutique — Attraction in Everett

Outstanding! Going to my first dance/ball and have never gotten dressed up before. I didnt know what dresses would look good on my plus sized figure and was afraid to order online. I didnt know this shop was tucked away by the bakery on the other side of the lake! They had just moved here from the everett mall this past December. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the owner Suzanne and her associate Andrea and I was blown away. Andrea took such good care of me like my own aunt would. She was down to earth but professional and knowledgable. She was relatable and very observant and considerate of me. She made sure I did no work, unzipping the dress for me and zipping me up, explaining how many of their dresses are cut a smaller size and helped me find the right fits for me. She brought me out of my shell and i had a lot fun trying on multiple dresses while my boyfriend was there for support. She even brought out jewelry to give me the full experience. It was a real fairy godmother time. In the end I found a design I loved, but the color I wanted wasn't in stock. Suzanne was quick to order me the color I wanted and will be here in a matter of 3 to 5 days! So glad I found them so close to home. I couldn't have had a better first time experience in...

I went here with my friends and later cried. The lady who was “helping” us body shamed me. I was looking at small dresses and she quickly came over to tell me I was a Large. I didn’t really think anything of it. She’s the professional. I began to look at the dresses in a large and my friends told me I would be a medium. I told the lady that I wanted to try a couple dresses (in a medium). She began to compare the dresses saying they were going to be really tight and we should try a large. My friends said medium would fit. I tried the first dress on and had the lady zip me up. She told me that it wouldn’t zip up and that I needed the large. I felt so bad about my body. I felt like the dress could fit, but she didn’t even try and zip it up. She pulled a couple other dresses which I tried on, all in mediums. I could tell my friends we just as upset with the situation as me. You NEVER tell someone their size. This establishment needs to train their employees better. Instead of telling someone their size, tell them to try both. I will not be returning to this store and I suggest you...

I was so appalled by the lack of customer service skills. First thing when I walked in I asked if they had a dress in a "dusty light blue" color family and she rolled her eyes. I explained that it was a bridesmaid dress and that's just what my bride was looking for but didnt have to perfectly match any specific color. I tried to show her the ballpark of colors and she just kept saying I couldn't get the same color because the screen and the fabric weren't going to be the same, right after I told her they didnt have to exactly match. Overall very rude and seemed so put off that I needed something somewhat specific. When I told her I would find something online she told me not to come to her the day before the wedding if my online dress wasnt what I expected because she "hates that." Would not recommend. Also I can't think of an appropriate scenario where rolling your eyes every 3 seconds at me, as your customer, is okay....
