Pescadería Don Candi — Restaurant in Fajardo

We recently visited Pescadería de Don Candi and the food was definitely tasty. We ordered two medium bowls—one with mixed carrucho and shrimp, and the other with carrucho, octopus, and jueyes. The lady who helped us with the menu was very friendly and even let us try samples of almost everything, which we appreciated.

However, one thing to note—make sure you ask for the prices before ordering. That was our mistake. We ended up paying $65 for just the two bowls and two sodas, which felt way too high. When we mentioned the price to our Airbnb host, she was shocked and told us it sounded like we had been overcharged. It left us with the impression that we may have been taken advantage of because we were clearly visitors.

The spot itself is a nice little kiosk, but they don’t have a menu with prices listed, so transparency is definitely lacking. Parking can also be a bit of a challenge since there’s not much available nearby.

Overall, good food and friendly service, but I’d recommend being cautious and confirming prices upfront to avoid...

It’s a good local place with freshly cooked fish however it’s way overpriced because there is no parking you need to park along the street and it’s very little. You won’t even call it a restaurant. You won’t even call it a restaurant it’s like a booth but with a view. Overall, it’s a good experience however, again in our opinion, it’s overpriced for one dish that consist fish, some smashed bananas and two little buns + 2 Virgin piña coladas we spent $70 comparing to the restaurant in the center of old San Juan for two dishes we spend 80$ And there is no prices on the menu to know it before...

Our best meal of our weeklong trip in Puerto Rico. It was so good we had to go back the second day! We ordered mixed seafood arepas and a fried red snapper — all of the seafood is so fresh. The coconut arepas were probably the best part and paired perfectly with the tender shrimp and octopus.

The staff is lovely and passionate about making great food. When we were debating which size fish to order, Chef brought over all three options for us to consider!
