Gorgeous spring. Crystal clear and slightly warmer than some of the other ones I've been to. Only complaint....we swam on the other side of the dock, which was not posted to not swim in, and there were manatees. We didn't touch them, but got very close. A park lady can down acting extremely rude threatening we could get into serious trouble. Not sure how, as there were no signs about not swimming in that area n we didn't touch the manatees, and would never do that unauthorized as I love and respect wildlife tremendously....but ok chick.😂 Still a wonderful place. Employees jus need to work on their attutudes. But that's at a lot of places...
Read moreThere is nothing more beautiful than Fanning springs. Unless the Suwannee River floods, it's one of the most beautiful Springs here in Florida. Definitely in the top five. And worth the 3-hour ride. Today was the 4th of July, it was a very relaxed atmosphere. A couple of boats were going in and out of the spring. A bunch of families enjoying each other's time with their children and grandchildren. Couple of people barbecuing. But pretty much everyone was just trying to cool off in the 97° heat. It's always a wonderful experience at the Fanning Springs State Park. The Rangers work very hard to keep that place...
Read moreWe love this little Fanning Springs rest area park. Beautiful view of the Suwanee River. There is a ramp that leads down to a floating dock right on the Suwannee. A but of history also with a remnant of the original bridge. Great picnic tables both covered and open. Large paved parking are. Very clean restrooms.
