Truly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I came here with my friends for an early dinner and truly had the most disgusting meals we’ve ever been served. For starters quite literally the shrimp cocktail was vile! Unflavoured and warm, for 10$ i excepted more than 10 bloody shrimp poorly placed in a ceramic bowl. The snow crab was in fact not “generously portioned” and lacked everything it possibly could need, including seasoning (which was placed on the shell), over cooking resulting in lack of meat, and for 37 US DOLLARS one would prefer more than just a sloppy crab leg tossed on a plate especially so close to the ocean (33 minutes), I’ve gotten better priced grab in Tallahassee from the Crafty Crab. Truly disappointing. Not to mention the moist and gushy hush puppies that my finger could sink into the rough crispy outer shell. I would not at all recommend the seafood there. The burgers were bland and put together like a 6 year olds play-doh project. Vegetables cut so off that it makes me wonder who in the kitchen has never welded a knife before to cut onions and tomatoes so thick our teeth couldn’t sink onto it. The only highlight of the place was their pink lemonade that at points felt so strong I still feel sick from it. Don’t even begin to listen to their crap salad bar, you could find better and healthier salads at KFC! That all being said I will never return to this place, I would not be surprised if the food was all severely undercooked because they have a senile chef. Spend your money somewhere else, don’t waste it at a place where it takes 15 minutes to bring out 10 pieces of shrimp...
Read moreWe like a good dive, so this was upscale for us.
Staying at the springs across the street and in need of food, this was an option that was not a fast-food chain. I do like that.
Building was clean enough, bathrooms nice and clean.
Our server was as polite as could be and took good care of us.
I had a fish I had never tried before and truly enjoyed it. Not over cooked, well-seasoned, not too salty. I loved the slightly sweet hush puppies. I don't care for those dry, course meal ones. These I loved.
Baked Potatoe was good - hubby loved his fried oysters and could not finish them and his sweet Potatoe fries.
The Salad bar was huge and really enjoyed having some real vegetables. They were fresh, a woman was working the salad bar the whole time we were there and this was late, showing up an hour before closing. Everything I picked was fresh, nice crunch and I really enjoyed that.
No dessert for us, too full.
If driving by or staying in the area, a good spot for a meal. I don't go for much seafood often, so can't comment on that much, but the mom-and-pop feel of the place, the kitsch lighthouse decor, it made me smile. I really liked the old time feel of the wood interiors.
If you like your seafood with some attitude and a fancy atmosphere, keep driving. This is more of a small town, cozy, homey sort of place. It is good, staff was very polite, things were clean, food was fresh and tasty. I...
Read moreI have been going to this restaurant for over 15 years, worked there myself for a couple years, and I will absolutely never go back. The last couple times my family and I had went there, the food had been iffy, but I figured I'd give this local favorite one last chance. Big mistake. The waitress, and I really want to stress this, was great; no complaints about service from her whatsoever. However, I had ordered the Delmonico and lobster tail, which I was pretty excited about, because we hardly ever get out for dinner. Our food arrives, and the lobster is so undercooked that it's ice-cold in the middle. The steak is also undercooked, but edible, unlike the lobster. I let the waitress know and she offers to have it refired, but I let her know I'd rather have shrimp than twice cooked lobster. So, I very slowly eat my steak and fries, waiting for the shrimp. When it finally comes out, the shrimp are so overcooked that they're shrunk down to the size of a quarter and are completely rubbery and inedible. I let the waitress know and she offers to comp the inedible, untouched lobster, but still charged me for the equally untouched and inedible shrimp. When I went to pay, I told the hostess how dissatisfied I was, to which I was told "Well that sucks, you still have to pay $xxx.xx for it." and shrugged. Horrible, and I'll...
