I am brand new to stained glass and I stopped in this store to look at some glass sheets and left with so much great information and feeling encouraged! There were two women who helped me with every question, had me practice some glass cutting, and gave tips and corrections in a kind and encouraging manner! They even helped me pick out a new used cutter, which has changed everything for me. Unfortunately, I live far away in the middle of nowhere, so I am unable to commit to the 7 (?) week long beginner workshop. I would have loved to come and learn with these people. However, they encouraged me to stop in whenever I’m in town and ask questions! I’m having to be self-taught due to location, and it was so helpful to get some hands on time with people with actual experience. All the employees I met were very warm and helpful, and I would recommend this spot to anyone. Learning something new is vulnerable, especially when surrounded by professions and experienced people, and it is so easy to feel badly about yourself in that situation. But in the past 3 to 5 years they have changed everything so much that now they really only cater to things costing many hundreds...up to thousands of dollars. Gone are the smaller less expensive options for more of an introduction to glass Artistry items. The jewelry options are very decreased. You can't find things anymore like beautiful glass beaded keychains, cute glass drop earrings etc. That used to all the under 25 or $30. The holiday ornament show 2024 is very disappointing. All of them are $50 and above and very lackluster. Not festive at all. So disappointed as I have been going to this place periodically for 20 years.
