I’ll start with saying that we do like the food here but if you get a to-go order from here, you will most likely never get all the food that you paid for in your order (this has happened a lot, almost everytime we get food here and we have let them know in the past too). And if you ask them to make sure they gave us everything, the workers (this time it was two young ladies) will give you a smug look and tell you in a very overconfident and rude tone like “everything it says in your order is in there okay”, and of course they didn’t check anything. We live 30+ minutes away and of course when we got home, once again there was food missing, this time they gave us none of our parathas (we ordered 8 parathas, they gave us 0!), our seekh kebabs or our halwa platter, they only gave us our chicken tikkas really.
We have never written a review before even though this has happened before and we have let them know hoping it would fix something (it didn’t) but this time there were no parathas so we had nothing to eat our food with and on top of that we had guests and that is unacceptable. My family even asked the ladies that gave us our order to double check and they were very smug and acted like my family members were being stupid and they were very disrespectful towards my mother and aunt. We spend hundreds of dollars here each visit and the service acts like they are paying you to eat their food instead of you spending your hard earned money to pay for it. This was one of my favorite restaurants but it has been very disappointing lately, but maybe that is the direction they want to go like a lot of other restaurants as they age.
I just wanted to post this incase it helps other people because it is a horrible feeling paying so much for your food and then having the elders in your family disrespected and then go home and not have the right order either. I hope this also helps the restaurant owners be aware of these issues (if they care) that happen everyday it seems like. I can’t imagine they only mess up our orders, they probably do this to everyone. Be careful everyone and please don’t trust the people at the front desk, they will act very smug and smart and then be very wrong and not own up to their actions. This ruined our family and guests night and my family had to end up cooking so we have something to eat the Tikkas with. Very disappointing tbh but hope this...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of attending the iftar buffet at BK Khan BBQ for the first time, and I must say, it was a dining experience worth celebrating. As a member of the desi community, I understand the high expectations we often have when it comes to both food and service. BK Khan BBQ not only met but exceeded those expectations with finesse.
Upon entering the restaurant, I was impressed by the well-organized layout and numbered tables, a thoughtful touch that streamlined the dining experience for guests. The ambiance was warm and inviting, setting the stage for what turned out to be a memorable evening.
The star of the show, of course, was the food. Each dish in the iftar buffet was not only beautifully presented but also bursting with flavor. From succulent kebabs to aromatic puri parathas, every item on the menu showcased the culinary expertise of the chefs at BK Khan BBQ. I particularly appreciated the continuous replenishment of dishes, ensuring that each guest had ample opportunity to sample everything on offer.
What truly set BK Khan BBQ apart, however, was the impeccable service. Throughout the evening, a member of the restaurant's staff, possibly the owner or his son, took the time to personally check in with each table, ensuring that both the food and service met our satisfaction. It was evident that customer satisfaction was a top priority for the entire team.
Speaking of the team, I must commend the hardworking staff for their dedication to ensuring that every guest's needs were met. From promptly fulfilling requests to swiftly clearing tables, their professionalism did not go unnoticed.
While the overall experience was near-perfect, I must mention one minor drawback: the Rooh-Afza, while delicious, could have been colder. However, this small hiccup in no way detracted from the overall excellence of the dining experience.
In conclusion, my visit to BK Khan BBQ was nothing short of delightful. I commend the entire team for their commitment to providing exceptional food and service, and I look forward to returning soon. To the management and staff of BK Khan BBQ, I say: keep up the fantastic work, and thank you for a...
Read moreNot sure how to interpret the BBQ moniker - is it a code word for Epicurean folks? After all in Texas the term should not be used lightly.
Limited menu but as the saying goes whatever you do give it your best shot. This place certainly does not miss the mark. Above average but still not a member in the scarce league (but then there are less than five, IMHO, in the DFW area that I've reviewed personally).
The Chicken Tikka had an optimal spice blend that would appeal to generational and international palates. However, it was a little overdone on the outside rendering it dark and eviscerating the dark rose color of a true Tikka.
The style of the Beef Bihari Kabob was certainly nothing like that from Bihar. No points were deducted for this interpretation because the strips were glistening when served.
The Chicken Handi was sublime but not too rich - again a nice casual feeling yet fully appreciative of the chef's efforts.
The Aloo Cholay was appealing. The preparation wasn't masked with disproportionate blends of spices - a mix between Homestyle cooking and restaurant quality.
Owing to poor eyesight on my part, I didn't read the Puri qualifier for the Paratha. This was certainly not my cup of tea since struggling to tear away very greasy flour is uncharted territory for me.
The Naan was simple but ideal. Again full marks for not offering dubious variations.
The platings lacked garnishes. Don't want to second guess the chef but presentations are always a delight and their omission reflects poorly on management.
The attention to service by all staff members has been outstanding on secondary visits. This aspect, probably cascaded through management by example, is endearing to customers. It is a little noisy inside so perhaps when the weather is accommodating you may want to dine on the patio.
There were several permutations of wraps that could not be indulged - perhaps on the next visit?
The misunderstanding of the basics of Kufic calligraphy, as applied to the purported logo, was glaring if one is accustomed to typography - asking for parsley but receiving...
