I am posting what I have written to Vaani foods but my e mail comes back impossible to deliver. I have attached photo of the stones that I am finding in your kollu product, I have bought 5 packets of kollu from a shop in Leicester, and 1 packet from Stoke on Trent to consume for medical reasons, why I bought so many was, I gave them to my children and friends, where I had to ask them to be careful. From the first batch , I had the bad experience and, I had to go to the dentist last week to get fixed my chipped molar tooth after munching on a stone. The photo is from the second batch I used, checking by hand spreading the kollu after soaking, the quantity is only 2 cups. Still my husband and I had to spit out stones, as well as a friend of mine who consumed them, who is a doctor, was very much annoyed and said that this must be reported. In an era, where in many Asian countries, sell de stoned rice and legumes, I am bewildered to find in the UK we are getting this product with stones and sand. I am asking you to wash, boil them and eat them so that you will realise how unpleasant and dangerous this is. I hope that you will take immediate action to stop this kind of product getting in to the market, I regret for the amount of advice that I have given many of my friends to buy this product.
Dear Vaani foods Director,

Read moreIf you are looking for good range of selections, this place has most of it but be prepard to pay little bit more for the selection. Not all but most items are little overpriced compared to other stores. Just as an example Cadbury's Eclaire chocolate Vani had it for $4.99 but Namasthe Plaza had it for $3.99. Don't get me wrong Namasthe Plaza has few items overpriced but Vani has most of the items overpriced. Unfortunately that seems to be the practise with most Indian grocery stores and they can get away with it because for most items price is not available on the shelf. If you are looking for fish and other frozen meat product, stay away from Vani. After you thaw it, you will find out it smells so bad especially fish. By far this store seems to be the more popular destination for Indians around this area, with that comes arragonce and no respect for the customers. If they still have the mentality that they are just starting a new business and treat customers well, that will be great. I have seen too many Indian businesses go down this path so I don't expect them to change. If you happen to read this review atleast you will know what to expect when you go...
Read moreThis goons are selling EXPIRED, FUNGUS LADEN groceries in their store and also shamelessly bragging about it. The other day we bought pack of Red snapper from this store since we called people for dinner. We cooked the fish and at dinner you won't believe the fish was impossible to chew on. Such a embarrassment for us and also for the guest we called for dinner. So we decided to let the owner know by packing rubbery/plastic fish and take it to the store next day. To our surprise there was a lady ahead of us complaining about the paneer(cottage cheese) her husband bought and it was green in color due to fungus. By this time we gained confidence that they for sure are selling expired groceries. When we told them that fish does not smell and taste like fish they said "MAYBE YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO COOK FISH" what the hell? We been cooking and eating fish for last 40 years and these people instead of being sorry and apologizing they are judging customers and telling them it's their fault. Yes it's our fault to buy grocery from you. Don't buy groceries from...
