Shop somewhere else!! This dealership cares nothing about your time and their paperwork skills leaves a lot to be desired. We purchased a car from Farmington Mercedes in December of 2023 and as of today (2/20/2024) we have not received any registration. I have been to the DMV 6 times with no success as the dealership signed and dated the paperwork back on January 3rd but neglected to ship it until several weeks late because they didn’t know that the DMV couldn’t receive FedEx? We have now had our tag revoked and received a fine because of failed to register our new car due to the dealership not getting paperwork done. But let’s go back to the beginning of this transaction, first of all we started with a salesman that neglected to contact us back, forgot to write anything down, and just completely dropped the ball. Next up to get handed to the sales manager (one nice note is he seems like a nice guy), he finally sells us the car and states that he has shipped 1000’s of cars and that we will get it and everything will be easy to handle on our part. We then have to sit around and wait on a vehicle to arrive several days after it was told that we would receive it and on top of that we were not even in our home state. We were out of town for the holidays and it shows up days later with me handling 75% of the communication with the hauling company. So, then we receive a car that has rat droppings in it and rat urine on the seats after we have waited over a week for the car to arrive. Only then to be told that the company that dropped the car off will not be taking our trade in back and that WE need to deal with that, again remember that we are not at home. So here I am with 2 cars and just me sitting in a parking lot of a grocery store. My responsibility to house the traded in vehicle until they figure out a way to come and pick it up! MY RESPONSABILTY to find a way to transport it to safe storage for over 2 weeks! On to the next phase of this nightmare! We get a car that immediately has to go into the shop because of an electric tracking device that was installed and interfering with the camera/electrical system of the vehicle we purchased. So, I take it to the closest shop to my home that is 45 miles away to be handed a bill to remove said device and repair a vehicle that I just received. It had the camera issues when it left the lot yet they didn’t do anything to repair them before they shipped it to me. So, to summarize, a broken sales man, sells me a rat urine broken car, with a broken paper trail, from a broken dealership! Had the car for over 2 months and can’t drive it and can’t register it. Do you think the...
Read moreI wanted to love this location… but I can’t. I have gone to this location for an A service and a B service. Within 24 hours of my B service my car began to throw a battery failure warning and a check engine warning (I thought this was odd because it had just gone through several inspections with the B service to include battery & other testing). I called to ask about these warnings / notify that it hadn’t been very long since it had been out of the shop with them & my overall concern. The person who attended me either was having a bad day or doesn’t carry themselves professionally because I was met with a tone as if I was inconveniencing the attendant over the phone. Fast forward; they ask me to bring the car in again. So I did, but about a week after my original B service appointment because of my work schedule, (during this week the two fault codes mentioned above flashed on my dash intermittently- sometimes showing engine lights & throwing battery failure sometimes not, but more often then not). At this appointment I was notified I was going to be charged diagnostic fees & was quoted $200/hr for the appointment and not given a time frame of when they thought they would have an answer..
To me this didn’t make sense as I had picked up the car from them that week prior after B servicing it & being told it was in perfect condition (my car is under 50K miles & under warranty still). This felt frustrating.. not only did I feel like I was met with a bad attitude about my problems by a good chunk of the staff but I did not feel confident in their abilities to diagnose my car. I chose to not service through this location after that interaction and booked an appointment at a different Mercedes location for an engine light diagnostic appointment. Within two hours after I had left my car with this other location they had notified me that my car needed a cylinder head replacement. They explained to me this was a known issue for the model of my car, seen often throughout my model, that they had the parts in stock & could get to working on it right away. That location was able to get my car back to me the very next day. Best part? They were kind, they listened to me, & they were knowledgeable. Second best part, they didn’t charge me a cent, not even for “diagnosing it”- they instead took the time to explain to me what was going on with my car. They even explained how Mercedes-Benz is aware of the issue as a whole & had an extended warranty for it - replacing it at no cost to me. Do better...
Read moreDeceitful. Not upfront about total service pricing. They do not deserve even one star but Mercedes Benz of Farmington dealership mostly responds to five star reviews so hopefully they’ll see this as they have yet to respond back to the Mercedes own review they send out after they have seen your car. Most of the positive reviews are only due to new car sales. If you take the time to read through the negative reviews, you’ll see service is lackluster at best. I took one of my G wagons for a 1 hour diagnostics service for 3 engine codes. Prior to taken the G in, I was told by the service writer there will be a $220 diagnostics fee and that’s it. If the fee was going to be more fees or time charged, they would call for pre approval.
I received a text from Kevin at the service desk, informing me that my car was complete. In addition to what I took my G down there for, they made a laundry list of items they recommended me to address. Well over 20k in laughable actions; Including a requested $20 dollar fee to put the gas cap on.
After reviewing all the requested maintenance, I noticed a $22 dollar shop charges fee. I asked Kevin what the fee was and he’s response was “Shop supplies are 10% of labor up to $50 over every Repair Order. They cover things like: uniforms, soap, rags, solvents, etc.. etc.. ? Shop supplies are on every ticket at any shop you have ever had a vehicle serviced. I apologize for any confusion. It is just like taxes and is part of the automotive world, running a shop. :(“
Never was I informed of this fee. I asked Kevin if he could to provide me a copy of where this fee is covers; never did I receive the requested documents. Andy, the service manager then was asked by me , where did I agree to this. Even he, as the service manager could not answer this simple question. I had to wait several days to hear back from Andy on what can be done. Eventually, Andy made it right for me and removed the fee. He said he did this because his management failed him as he never heard back from his leadership.
All of this embarrassment for Andy all due to Mercedes Benz of Farmington inability to show me where I agreed to this ridiculous charge for plugging in a computer to diagnose a CEL. Never will either of my G wagons touch a wheel at this awful and deceitful service center. Do yourself a favor and if you have to take your Mercedes to a dealer,, drive right past these clowns and take to to Ken Garff In SLC esp since Andy is no...
