Credit nightmare for a pair of jeans plus poor service add up to lost customer. Back to Brooks Brothers I go.
I just started to shop at Nordstrom's after years away. It feels like they are trying to get better, so I wanted to give them my business.
What a disaster. A pair of jeans and a belt cost me over 2 hours of my time. First the sales associate forgot to take the security tag off the jeans. Noting happened when we left the store. I called the store and they told me to come back. I drove 40 minutes back to the store to be told they would have come to my house to take off the tag! 80 minutes wasted! BTW, their security system for the tags does not work according to the staff.
This is the worst part. I was asked if I wanted to join the program to earn points. I agreed. The sales associate took the basic info then asked for my household income. I asked why they needed that for a points program. Turned out she was trying to open a Nordstrom's credit card account! I told her I absolutely did not want one, but it was too late. I came home the other night to a letter from Nordstrom's credit stating they needed more info for my application. I called the number to say I did not want a card and wanted the inquiry off my credit report! I was duped by the sales associate to open an account. The CSR tried for 25 minutes to get a supervisor when I gave up with her. I called corporate and asked for Blake Nordstrom's office. His assistant Erica was very helpful. Within hours the credit card issue was resolved. Erica also apologized for my unnecessary trip to remove the security tag.
The acting store Manager in West Hartford called to ask if I still wanted to close my points account as I had quite a few points. I said yes. It will be years until they gain my trust to try shopping there again. It is an upscale store with upscale prices, but I am not going to shop at a store that has sales associates that try to get you to unknowingly open a Nordstrom's account so they can earn a bonus and screw with your credit rating. That is one step too far.
For those who care, the store offered nothing to make up for my time lost or for their dishonest (and I am told illegal) credit practices. Honestly, I don't want anything no less have anything to do with...
Read moreIf I can give this store a -5, I would. I bought a pair of Dansko in Jan 2020, right before COVID-19. I am a mandated worker/ frontline/ health care worker. Because of the pandemic I did not have time to go to the stores, due to working long hours. By the time my shift ended; everything was literally closed. I barely had time to even do grocery shopping... Now that there is a little bit of breathing room... I finally had time to go to the store. I had asked the manager in store and online to make an even exchange with my shoes. The wrong size was bought. I went in the store and found a pair of Danskos that were my size. I did not want a refund... just an even exchange. The shoes were the exact same price. I spoke with the sales and online manager and they told me that they could not do a refund due to length of time. I explained my entire situation... but they did not care!!! According to them, they had no return policy... However, the online manager reported that if I were to return them I would get only 50% of what I paid. These are brand new!!!! Never worn pair of shoes!!!! Still in the plastic!!! Still the box!!! No dents or tears to the item or box!!!! I pleaded with the manager... even offered to giver her my license number!!!
As a frontline worker!!!! This is very upsetting to know that people can not be accommodating even with the circumstances!!! At this point, I will no longer be supporting Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack!!! You have lost a valuable customer... and most likely other valuable customers. There’s a saying... Health care workers travel...
Read moreI was there a few days ago and I forgot my tory burch sunglasses in the fitting room. There were under a couple legging that y tried and don't like to me. I noticed like 25 min after a left the store and I call and explained to the lady at the phone that I forgot my sunglasses there just in case they already found it when They took the leggings. I was in hold around 20min. I drove to there and explained to a boy I swa working what happened to me. He said already knew about this and also said he was the maneger and according to him,he told to the girl, the sunglasses weren't found it. No one told me nothing by phone. I walked to the fitting room an checked by myself. All was cleaned already obviously. And then I asked to a girl who was bringing a rack in the back part. She said will check in the lost items basket. Something that was weird for me and that the reason why I'm giving this bad review was he came behind me to the fitting and asked me "can I help you"when I already explained to him. The organizing girl told to him why I was there. Both of then got in side store where the lost items were supposed to be. Around 3min later she came to me and told me,nothing was find it. I don't know what exactly happened with my sunglasses but his attitude was so...
