I'm giving this a 2 only because of my experience today. Never did I ever think I'd have a complaint about the splash pad but at the same time, this review is towards the parents as well. Today, a young child went into the splash pad area with a big bag of cheeto puffs. I say big bag because it wasn't a snack sized one. Needlessness to say, some time went by and a child threw up. I'm not pointing fingers at this specific child BUT when the color is orange... one can only assume. Now, as soon as I seen this mess, i walked inside the recreation center to report it so it could be cleaned up. The response I heard about my concern was, "there's not really much that can be done".... one, that is not what I expected to hear and two, it took exactly 30-35 minutes for a worker to go out there and sweep it from the concrete into the grass (a 5 minute job if that). During the 30-35 minute wait for the cleanup, children were running through it and very few parents...
Read moreWe are frequent flyers at Honey Cutt Park. The kids were so excited to learn of it opening back up. However, they were somewhat disappointed by the new equipment. They took out all the beaches around the park except for one by the swings. So if you want a place to sit or relax birng your own chairs or blanket. As for the new equipment it is definitely geared more towards the older kids. Where before the equipment had a ramp littles could walk up and enough room for adults to go as well. Now the equipment is so smashed together and tall, that it is not really safe for littles. Especially those who are not confident climbers. There were children playing tag on the equipment and there is just not enough room for that anymore. I do like that they put down a padded area around the equipment. So when the kids fall its not so rough like the mulch/dirt was before. The kids even said they did not like how smashed the playground felt compared to...
Read moreOur favorite park! This park is great for families, consisting of two playgrounds, swings, and climbing structures for children. One of the playgrounds is for toddlers, which is great for parents who want to get the little ones acclimated to visiting the park and having fun. This park also has baseball/softball fields. In the summer the park offers a splash pad to allow the children to engage in outdoor water play. There is also a paved walking trail, which can also be used for rollerblading and bike riding. There is a picnic area and a huge field that allows for other outdoor fun, such as football, kite flying, Frisbee, etc. Having the Kiwanis rec center attached to the park is a bonus, providing bathroom facilities, refreshments, and indoor recreation. The only downside is that there could be more seating & the splash pad could be bigger, despite that, it is definitely a must visit spot. Check it out...
