Veterans Memorial Park — Attraction in Fayetteville

Great place for family, pets, fitness and activities. The day we were there a women's DU took place and there was a band for the event, it was cool to watch the runners and cyclists. We were there for a sand volleyball tournament so all the courts were all being used. The trails are paved and wonderful for running, walking or biking. I believe the whole trail system is 5 miles. We followed it to the lake and back. There were short little hiking trails along the way where you could detour off the trail for a 50 yards or so and then get back on (this is great for kids or pets). The trail goes over a spillway with observation points. We only went a short distance on the trail with our dog but there were families with pets, children and bikers on the path. Nice park attached to a long bike/pedestrian trail. It has bathrooms, water fountains, several beach volleyball courts and a playground. There are rentable electric scooters if you feel like zipping around on the pace trail. There is also a entrance to nature trail/dirt path that takes you through wooded areas parallel to the paved path. I think this would be an excellent park for those with mobility devices. A great municipal park! It's literally a staging area to a woodland area (Lake Fayetteville's natural and paved trails) within the city, and chance to enjoy peace and quiet on the trails nearby too. Sand volleyball, pavilion, and easy access/parking for Lake Fayetteville natural and paved recreational trails. Great for kids, walks, cycling on either trail. Apple Blossom Brewery is very close by if you want to relax after an outing...
