Badlands Disc Golf Course — Attraction in Federal Heights

This is a good disc course with elevation changes, water hazards (especially#12), trees, some length, some longer holes like #1 (500+'), now 2 par 4s (#4, 8), and a good mix of holes. We didn't see a course map. There are alternate layouts for competitive events, like the 303 Open. They are putting in posts for signage. Some baskets are hard to see initially (like #5, 11, 14). There are pro tees for #12 & #17, though #15's & 17's stolen baskets have been replaced with the 2 other practice baskets. So there is only 1 practice basket. Grrr. Some holes are easier after the 1st time. There are non-disc walkers to keep an eye out for. They chopped down 2 trees that used to make #15 & 16 more interesting. The course was difficult for me but that's what I like in a disc golf course. A place to where if you dont throw the disc right can easily get lost in the tall grass, thick bushes and trees, in a ditch or in a water bank. It seemed more on the professional level compared to the other golf course I've been on. It was some what difficult to read and really understand which way the course was going. The courses needs to be map out a bit better. There's several different ways to go and a course that seems more for advance players. The advance course(is what I call it)seems very challenging and more difficult to complete, but all in all it was a very fun course to play. Just watch out for snake cause there are some out there. This is the Upper Badlands at Carstens Park aka Camenisch Park. This is a favorite of many in our group. A wide variety of holes makes this a very fun course. A few long downhill bombers. A few short shorts across the water. A few in the open and a few among the trees. If you haven't played this one it's defintely worth the drive.
