ACTIVE MILITARY? NEEDING A LOAN IN DENVER CO? READ THIS REVIEW! KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!!
Stars are awarded (by me) based on specific criteria. Cleanliness, hospitality, knowledgeable on products and serivces, FAIR/REASONABLE OFFERS/PRICE, and the abiding of trade commission rules and regulations (honoring laws that are designed to protect active duty service members from predatory lending practices...)
Now on with the review!!!
We visited Denver to spend a few days with my brother for his birthday š. Been to Denver plenty of times doing music or travel. (I must say some things have changed...) Anyway...
We needed a few extra dollars until our pay day later that week so we began looking for a good pawn shop where I could get a loan for pure silver and pure gold. 999+ fine. I buy sell trade precious metals everyother day for my company that you can purchase on ebay from called Big Daddys Bullion. So I know what to expect when it comes to rates on loans, what the cost of my product is (at melt no premium).
I love going into pawn shops!! I love to buy sell trade. Meet others in that world etc. I noticed that pawn shops in Denver are either
A: Denying Active military MLA rights that protects active duty from predatory lending practices (Over charging interest rates, and the confiscation of property for non-payment due to DEPLOYMENT).
B: Discriminating on Military, denying them service based on "A"
Either way this is very concerning.
After being denied at multiple locations (for the listed reasons) I called this place. Cash 4U. They said they worked with military so we headed there. When I got there the employee said there is no difference in the loan (loss of a star for knowledgeability,)
Me needing the loan being over a thousand miles from home we decided to get it because they were offering to let us have a loan. (Being from out of state and giving us a loan earned you a star)
I was offered less than 30%of melt for my loan which was not a fair or reasonable offer. In perspective the solid melt value of what I loaned was in between 3500-4000 in MELT not retail price (the cost it becomes when you melt it down) I asked for a 1k loan but they wanted ALL the product. We travel, most pawn shops in the country begin negotiating at 45-65% melt for a loan. (Loss of a star for fairness/reasonable offers/price)
The final close is the interest we were charged. Let me say we did need a few bux that is no lie, but MLA is designed to help us (active duty military) in time of need. Especially when we work well with hundreds of stores across the USA. We are not scamming anyone. We are doing honest business with real product and expect the same respect as a customer in return. (FOR that you lost a star) hey at least the store was decenty organized "clean".
That is 0 stars: Knowledgeability Fair/reasonable offers/prices Honoring trade regulations regarding Active duty military.
2 stars: Cleanliness Loan for out of state customer
There have been many stores recently reported in Denver not abiding by federally sanctioned lending acts. (MLA). This store can do the right thing or be reported as well. Too many servicemembers get pushed to the side and taken advantage of. I'm not saying everyone is a saint, but those laws are there for a reason, and they should be honored when your paths cross. They lay it all on the line to give us a place to do business. They should be honored. God Bless the USA Thank you to those who serve and have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet start off by saying the man late 50 early 60s in the glasses who took about 7 minutes to come out from the back walked out and rudely asked what I wanted. I said I was here with a dimond neckless placing the neckless on the counter he looked it up and down faintly and then said what carrot I said idk it was a gift he immediately said not interested without testing or even holding the neckless as if it seemed fake. With his bad attitude, I wasn't even going to argue with him, took my jewelry, and left. I then took it down the street to a other pawn shop and got $ 2,000 for it thank God that man didnt give me the time of day the way he acted to the necklaces showed he knew nothing about jewelry or customer service I would of missed out on hundreds if he even considered the neckless. The moral of the story is go to this pawn shop to be racially profiled and given terrible customer service I'm sure if I wasn't as brown and my skin was light bright and two shades from white it would of been a whole different...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWARNING, this business is selling confirmed counterfeit coins.
Location had two numismatic United States coins for sale.
An 1805 1/2 cent and 1846 Dime.
I purchased both on separate dates for a total of $630 and sent the 1805 first to PCGS for certification. Turn around times for PCGS certification can vary but took over a month to process and be returned.
PCGS confirmed, the 1805 was a counterfeit. The local accredited coin shop who I sent the first through to PCGS, then confirmed the 1846 was also counterfeit when picking up the 1805.
I brought both back and requested a refund, the business refused.
Employee refused to then give any contact information for the owner when requested.
Pictures below are of both coins from this location
I have reported this business to the BBB, FTC, and Local Secret Service field office for selling counterfeit collectible US currency.
Update 11/22 added photo Iām not the only one, please see message of another buyer who contacted me through yelp after...
