I went to their annual bbq and Jeep show. I was very impressed with the array of weapons mounted on the Jeeps. This really gives you a personal perspective of what it may have been like for fighters to be riding around shooting and getting shot at with no armor surrounding them. Chilling thought! Inside the museum has a bunch of small personal artifacts more than large devices or vehicles. This is cool, but plan to spend a bit more time reading the copious plaques and info displays to really understand the info. They also have several videos playing on loop. Definitely worth an hour+ of your time, and drop a donation in the bucket too. Keeping history alive is paramount for us to not repeat the worst parts.

The museum is a nice place to learn about the nation's military conflicts from a local perspective. You will find exhibits on the major conflicts along with the Merchant Marine, the Coast Guard, and a large collection of model ships and military vehicles. It is interesting to read the personal stories from the various conflicts, and to watch historical film. Located at the Florence airport on Kingwood Avenue just off Hwy 101 and 20th Street. A great place to see historic artifacts from the major conflicts with a focus on Oregon veterans.

We live in La Pine and ventured to the coast and found this treasure of a place. Such a huge amount of history packed into this building. Not to mention, the gentlemen who worked there were bursting full of great knowledge and pride for our country, military and history. They have so many relics, stories, and models. They have a full on gift shop too with all sorts of neat things you can purchase. We really enjoyed our visit and left feeling humbled with what we had learned. Thanks for the great visit you all! And the popcorn! Haha!

Too much to see in one visit unless you plan on being here for a few hours. They also change the displays from time to time as per the caretaker. Very interesting and informative displays. They have some items I've never seen except in books. Very fun way to experience history.

They also have a video display room that runs different videos from various military subjects. I don't know the details, but we did watch about 10 minutes of the video that was playing and it would have been interesting to watch the whole thing.

One reviewer said everything can be completely seen in 30 minutes, I don't believe it's possible unless you skim the displays and then why bother? If you appreciate the opportunity to see things you might not be able to anywhere else go and have a great...

Our visit to the Oregon Coast Military Museum was a wonderful dive into history. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and paid a modest entry fee, which was well worth it. Despite its small size, the museum packs a punch with its extensive collection of local and international military artifacts. The displays are thoughtfully arranged, making excellent use of the limited space and ensuring a smooth flow through the different eras and exhibits. It’s clear that a lot of care and effort has gone into each presentation. For anyone interested in military history, this museum is definitely...
