Let me start off by saying that I run my own Video Games Store in Colorado Springs, so I know how this business works. I also in general don't like gameStop for many different reasons, but I will put that all aside for this review.
That said, avoid this gameStop at ALL costs. There seem to be only 2 or 3 employees that work here and I can tell you that they are completely incompetent. They don't seem to know anything about games at all. They don't even know anything about the products that they have on the shelf. Case in point...
I am here on vacation, and went in to get a Playstation Vita Charge cable, and a trigger grip accessory. The gentleman who competed my transaction, didn't even know what the Vita charge cable looked like, none the less if they had any in stock. I looked around on the floor, and found what seemed to be like the 2(two) things that I had gone in looking for. Needless to say, when I got home neither of the products worked for my Vita.
Now I will accept responsibility for buying the wrong products, because although it is written in small print, the trigger grips were for a PS Vita 2000 model. Also, the Sony brand charger, does not include the actual cable to connect to a VITA, just the USB charge brick. Again, it does say this fact on the back, but in little text, not anywhere even semi-visible.
Being irritated, I politely went to return both items, and exchange them for the correct parts. The same gentleman (who appears to be some sort of manager), was not even sure of his own return policy, and had to print out a receipt just to look it up. At this point some woman (possibly another manager) comes out from the back, and I explain to them this stuff does not work, and that I would like the pieces for the VITA 1000 model. The lady proceeds to tell me that of course they won't work for the PSP 2000. After politely correcting her that there was in fact 2 models of Vita, the two of them proceed to "find" me the right pieces.
They ultimately did not have the charging cable (how can they not have a charger for a product that they sell), and switched out the trigger grips for the "correct model". Being a used acessory, there was no label on the item that verified this, but I was assured that it was.
Now I have just arrived home and find once again that this grip is the exact same one that they sold the first time, except it is used. So now I have to make a trip back to the store again, which is about 35 minutes away, to return it once and for all.
So, it seems to me that this GameStop is staffed by the most incompetent employees, who seem to not care at all about games / gamers, and ultimately just want your money.
This is the kind of nonsense that makes people HATE GameStop. Screw this location, both employees should be fired, and the store should be shut down. (This last part is my little rant). Avoid this place like you would the...
Read moreWhy did this guy just give gamestop in foley a 1 star. I'm glad you asked because I'm going to tell you. I used this store for about 5 years off and on. I'm not a super gamer I just like to have something to pass the time every now and then. There are a lot of times I avoided going because I didn't want to hear them push the rewards card in my face. Even the store manager that seen me come through the store for years always ask me the same question. I get it you're trying to do your job but repeating the something over isn't being a good salesman. I just want to buy my game and leave. Well today of all days was not the greatest days for me. I just bought two games yesterday. I returned them today because one wasn't working and the other one just sucked. I do that! If I buy a game and I think that it is terrible I will not keep it. The store manager while looking at his computer says you gotta be careful how many games you return. Apparently it cost a lot of money to put used games in a envelope and file it in alphabetical order. It's not what he said it's how he chose to say it. I understand business and I am not without reason. I get it man selling used games to 8 year old boys is a stressful career. Not everybody has the patience or the skill to do it but it is still your job to not be a Dick. Work on being a better manager and I might let you sign me up for your...
Read moreI came into this store today looking for call of duty modern warfare and to see if gamestop offered any sales on the game for Black Friday like may other stores have advertised this season but I wanted to take my business to GameStop first. There was only one guy there this afternoon and I asked him if they offered any sales on the game and he responded with "no" I then asked if they would price match any of the competitors prices like Walmart is offering the game for 38 dollars now for Black Friday. He then acted angry that I even asked and said no! And then proceeded to tell me that Walmart undercuts themselves and takes a loss of the game to sell them for Christmas and GameStop doesn't do that! I told him thanks and that I wanted to support our local game stop and give them the first opportunity for my sale but now see that was mistake and I won't make that mistake again. I later got home and ordered the game from Walmart then found that gamestop is actually offering the game for 38 dollars today through the 30th. I hope management sees this and does something about their rude and unprofessional employee because I won't buy...
