We love this small place! It offers the chance to see some common farm animals including chickens, cows, ducks, geese, turkeys, horses, pigs and maybe pet a goat or a sheep if one is near the feeding area. There is also a display of old farm equipment that is interesting to me as an adult. At only $4 admission and free for seniors and kids under two, it's accessable to most families and they offer horse and pony rides for kids for a small extra fee as well. There's a small playground inside the farm if your little one needs a play break or just wants to socialize with other kids. The whole farm is small enough that you can't lose track of your child so they can have a bit of freedom to run ahead, explore and visit different animals. You can see the whole place in 5 minutes but we usually spend more than an hour here before we head home for lunch and nap time. Check the hours and times on the website - they have...
Read moreWhat a WONDERFUL place to take the kids for an afternoon, or to throw a birthday party!!! Whether you are the sort of parent that has no idea what to do for a birthday party, or just want something different this time around, you owe it to yourself to research the activities offered by this park/farm. You'll definitely have trouble pulling small kids away from the animals. You can do pony/horse rides, go inside the pens of the petting zoo, and have a picnic. The farm is set up as a teaching experience, so if you read the signs next to the buildings, equipment, etc., you can easily turn it into something more than a petting zoo. Want to throw a private birthday party, they have facilities for that. For example, the old farmhouse is set up as a location to host such a party, and included in the price is a staff member who will assist you and serve as your guide through the...
Read moreMy family enjoyed this farm. I recommend visiting and spending about an hour or more. I had a 3 year old, 9 year old, and 11 year old. Some had already seen animals, but my youngest was able to roam around on the clean wide sidewalks to explore.
It is a clean place. We at purchased a lunch for take out and ate at one of the picnic tables in tree shade. It was an opportunity to slow down from a busy day and observe the animals as we ate.
Visiting the small farm museum and the animals was fun. There are pony rides for an extra fee. Adults must lead the horse or pony for their child, so be prepared if you are by yourself and you have multiple children. The ponies do not ride with approaching thunderstorms for safety (sound of thunder might spook them). Also be aware birthday parties will have priority for...
