Seven Layer — Attraction in Fort Lauderdale

I had a great time celebrating my friend’s birthday at this location. The staff was welcoming. The aesthetics of the space were absolutely beautiful whoever did the decorating did an amazing job! However, when I first walked in, I noticed a strong herbal smell. As I got closer to one of the instructors Lauren, the scent of marijuana became overwhelming. It was even noticeable on her breath which I couldn’t take with stuff around her mouth. I’m not here to judge what people do in their personal time, but it’s unprofessional and takes away from the experience. I’m not sure what kind of standards are in place for hiring, but I think it’s something worth addressing because it really impacts the atmosphere because not everyone can take the smell. The drinks were phenomenal! The mixologist was very interactive and knowledgeable. She answered all our questions and really engaged with us throughout the experience. One small safety concern: there was hot wax on the floor, which could be a hazard for guests walking by especially children. My husband surprised me with a candle making class at Seven Layers for my birthday. When we first pulled into the parking lot we were a little bit skeptical because of the surrounding area however the vibrant murals were welcoming. Walking into Seven Layers felt like walking into heaven! The ladies from the shop were so sweet. He booked our class for a Tuesday evening, we had the entire place to ourselves since it seems to be a slow day for them. The shop is beautifully decorated. Our class came with a welcome drink - we both got the passion fruit marg. Super yummy! The candle vessel selection is great, the instructor was up front about additional costs for the more fancier vessels. The instructor took time to carefully explain the process and best practices. Something that I love is that they cool the candle down while you are there so you can take it home with you. Some other candle making shops make you come back in a couple of hours. Upon arrival, the door was locked so I was a bit concerned that we missed our appointment being 15 mins late but immediately someone opened the door for us and although our appointment had been refunded unknowingly they still allowed us to stay, they played a mix of music and was a very clean environment , before starting they explained everything step by step and was very thorough, the scents were amazing, after finishing our candles, my husband surprised me with the mixology as well and the drinks we made were amazing, the ladies were so sweet and accommodating to us and we even took shots with another guest who was celebrating their birthday.
