BUYER BEWARE! APPARENTLY THE QUESTION YOU MUST ASK YOUR SALES REP IS WHAT YOU SEE IN THE SHOWROOM IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE PURCHASING AND WILL BE DELIVERED. Giving a 1 star is being VERY generous at this point. Last October we went into Kane’s Furniture and dropped 14k for 2 mattress/boxspring and bedroom set. We didn’t make an immediate decision the first day at the showroom, we walked around spent hours looking at the options available, pulling out the drawers etc. It is a big purchase that you don’t make lightly - you want to make sure you love what you’re about to spend 14k on. We waited a few days to week to return back to make our purchase. Excited - we finally made the decision on the bedroom set. Even went up and took another look at it before making it final. Did all the paperwork and set up delivery dates. Delivery day 1 came - mattress/boxspring was delivered. All was good with no incident. Delivery day 2 came - furniture and all was good. They even fixed the remote they ripped off the wall while coming into the bedroom. The issue came when I started to finally unpack my moving boxes. The one thing I had been waiting for for so long - no more living out of moving boxes. I start to unload my boxes and I noticed the drawers aren’t sturdy, slide nice and open out wide (like in the showroom) now I’m unhappy - nonfunctional furniture at $3600.00 A few months go by and a bracket on the knob breaks. I contacted Kanes customer service and they order new ones. I go to pick them up and as I’m there I tell the girl about the drawers - they do not open all the way like ones in the showroom and the underneath of the drawers (if you try to push clothes in) snags your clothes- as if the underneath wasn’t completely finished or sanded smooth. I have been back and forth with Jennifer the manager and had 2 people come to my house to check the drawers - apparently the manufacturer changed the sliders to 8inches from the 12inches (that’s displayed in the showroom that isn’t disclosed to the buyer) and Kane’s refuses to make it right. I even suggested that my sliders on my furniture be swapped with the showroom sliders so I have functioning furniture and they refuse to do so. VERY MISLEADING AND REFUSE TO MAKE IT RIGHT!

We bought the Tulare Genuine Leather Dual Power Reclining Sofa and loveseat in Jan 2024 and in less than a year the color from 2 of the seats and arm rest is lifting. (not fading, actually lifting off) We did not spill anything on it. We DID purchase the extended warranty and cared for our leather according to the manufacturer instructions. We called for the first time to make a claim and they told us to contact the store, since it was under a year old and it would be covered under the original warranty. The store sent out an inspector and they decided we spilled something on it (which we did not) They will not cover it and neither will the extended warranty because they called it normal wear and tear. In what world does REAL leather have spots of color lift off?!! We feel truly scammed and will NEVER shop at Kanes again. Buyer Beware before purchasing anything from them! UPDATE: After their reply to this review I sent them my contact info they requested and they emailed me and again offered no resolution. They just denied liability. MY REPLY to that email: I completely disagree with your assessment. NOthing was spilled, our dog did not cause this damage, she does not even get on the main sofa that has the damage. There are a couple scratches on the loveseat that were caused by my dog (which we did NOT make a claim for) There were NO scratches on the sofa. There is not ANY residue on either sofa ) We have cleaned it with the leather care kit that YOU sold us. I have had 2 other sets of leather sofa and loveseats (One is still currently in our home) for more than 8 years with No such damage E-V-E-R. The only reason we replaced the last set is because it wasn't electric...it is still alive and well in our son's home. This kind of damage after less than a year in our home IS due to substandard, shoddy quality. We are more than disappointed... We are disgusted with your product and the inadequacy of service we received.

UPDATE: It's been TEN MONTHS, and one side of the reclining sofa is stuck in the "up" position. This was not cheap furniture and now I have to try and locate somebody to fix it or have to purchase a new sofa. The salesman was so untruthful, and we ended up with a $300+ battery pack we didn't need, so I wouldn't have a long cord going across my floor. He lied about the delivery time, saying he would try for the next day, as I was walking out, he said the manager said maybe 5 days, then halfway home, I received a text telling me it would be delivered in ten days. The delivery men were helpful and cleaned up after setting everything up. They were the ones to inform me that the battery pack I was sold was incompatible with my sofa. When trying to reach the manager to return it, we were told he would call us back. We really wanted to return the furniture altogether, but was told there was a large restocking fee. After not hearing from the manager for a week, we called corporate. They sent out a man from Naples to confirm the battery doesn't work with this particular sofa. He agreed. He took it back to Fort Myers, and we were told they would refund the money to our card. That took two weeks. Overall, I would not return to this store and look elsewhere for furniture. We knew the family that owned Kane's before it went corporate and purchased from them previously. Never again. We really got the runaround, and feel that they should let us return this furniture for something better suited for our home. But that's not going to happen, so we are stuck with a cord running about four feet from our sofa to a receptacle. Disappointed, to say the least.

Horrible Customer Service Experience – Kane's Furniture Fort Myers

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the treatment I received from Kane’s Furniture in Fort Myers. I’ve been a returning customer—back in 2018, I purchased all my furniture from this store and had such a great experience that I came back again to replace it. Unfortunately, after this most recent experience, I will never return, and I can no longer recommend this store to anyone.

I called to request a return for items that are completely unopened and unused. I explained that I love the items, but due to space issues, I needed to return them. The person who answered, Evelin, responded in a shockingly unprofessional and dismissive way. She repeatedly used the expression "huh" after every sentence, in a tone that clearly suggested she didn’t care at all. It was as if she was telling me, "That's your problem, not ours." Every time I tried to explain something, her constant "huh" made it sound like I was being mocked or brushed off. It was not just unhelpful—it was disrespectful and rude.

I asked to speak with a manager, and instead of transferring me, she said, “He’s going to tell you the same thing I just told you,” and refused to let me speak to anyone else. She made the decision for the manager before even hearing my full situation. That level of arrogance and lack of professionalism is unacceptable.

To make matters worse, no one ever informed me at the time of purchase that the store does not accept returns. If that policy had been made clear, I would have thought twice before finalizing the order. According to the Kane’s website, returns are “upon approval”—but apparently, that means nothing when the person answering the phone has already decided your case doesn’t matter.

This is not the first time I’ve experienced questionable behavior at this location. 3 dyas ago, when I went to adjust my order in person, a manager told me I had to explain to the sales associate at the front that I was working with someone else so she wouldn’t get upset after I was already talking to my sales person. That is completely unprofessional and makes customers feel like they’re walking into a personal drama, not a place of business.

The only person in that store who deserves recognition is Erik, who has always treated me with respect and professionalism.

Kane’s has just lost a loyal customer, and I will make sure others know about my experience. I give them one star only because I can't give zero. If you expect to be treated with basic respect and professionalism, I suggest you shop somewhere else. It is also disappointing considering that Kane’s furniture is not cheap. Their pieces are sold as high-quality items, yet they treat customers as if their money has no value. As Evelin herself said to me, “You already bought it, if you don’t like it, you can’t return it” — as if the significant investment I made meant nothing to them. Great experience while shopping. James Springer helped us. Amazing representative. I have a lot to say about James. First of all, he is well knowledged about any product you asked about on the floor. Second, he has pays attention to customer needs. He understands what you are looking to buy. The best part of our experience is like other stores, and he did not ask about my budget; instead, he asks what we like and what we will be looking into. That shows he is not into making big commissions, but he is there to find the best match, and you can decide what price range you want to go for. What a great salesperson quality we have found. Also, when we compared the price with others, you will not find much difference but find some great quality. He also responds to you as soon as possible. When we were shopping one another place, we found that either you are not noticed by the salesperson, or someone picked you to help you leave you alone to check things by yourself. There is no problem looking around without help, but what I learned after dealing with James is that you will miss the information about your selected furniture. When with James, he walked every step we took in the store and gave us details about the quality and does it meet the purpose of what we are looking for. Not only that, I liked that he suggested as if we like anything he thinks can be a good match. We were picky customers. But I was surprised by his patience and walking with us from one side to another side. The truth is until we select or find some, he will not get paid, but he did not think about it. His only concern was to find the thing we will love. Our first concern was going to have the delivery on time. He told us the truth from the beginning. He said some would be delayed some will not. To make sure every time we liked something, he took notes on those and run to check the availability. What else we can ask for. My overall experience was amazing, and I can not rate Jame Springer less for any mistakes that may occur by the company. Do not take our experience but if you have any intention to shop at Kanes, please meet James, you will find everything we mentioned about him. Great employees like him make the business grow. Also, please compare some other benefits you will get in Kanes where you will not find another store such as a delivery option. We shopped almost two weeks ago and hold the review to see James' response when we ask him about our furniture, cause often once sales are made, the salesperson will delay replying. Guess what, he replied to me within 2 minutes. Even he gets back to me in an hour, and I will not take it wrong cause he might have customers that time, giving them the same attention he gave us while shopping. My wife and I can go about our experience all day, and that much we are happy with James. Now we will wait to see how Kanes work with...

If I could give Kane’s zero stars, I would. I would even give them negative stars if I could. I’m EXTREMELY disappointed in the severe LACK of customer service the Kane’s Furniture of Fort Myers, FL offers. I purchased thousands of dollars worth of furniture from Kane’s over 8 months ago, in November of 2021. There are delays in shipments and supply shortages everywhere, so I was disappointed, but understood when they told us our furniture would not be delivered until The beginning of April 2022. I called in April only to find out that the shipment was delayed until the END of July. Kane’s never gave me any notification that there were further delays. I was a uper upset, but what can you do? I called AGAIN, today, July 27, 2022. Spoke with a lady named "Emerald," at least I believe that is what she said on the phone. Now she tells me it will not be delivered until the LAST WEEK of AUGUST. She stated that it was shipped June 5th and takes 8-10 weeks for delivery. Okay... whatever... when I told her that 8-10 weeks would make the delivery time between July 31st and August 14th she responded "I don't know, that is just what I'm told to tell people on the phone." When I then responded that I find this very frustrating since I spent thousands of dollars over 8 months ago and STILL have no furniture to show for it, she responded with a very snarky and RUDE "okay." And said nothing further after that. I find this to be absolutely ABYSMAL customer service. Come on... the BEST customer service Kane's can offer is months upon months of delays and associates who DO NOT CARE and mock the customers with sarcasm over the phone?? I will never do business with Kane's Furniture again and I will tell everyone I know to avoid Kane's like the plague. I will also write reviews on Google, yelp, Facebook, and any other avenue I can find to help warn other hard working, innocent individuals not to get robbed by this store!! Kane's has NEVER once offered any kind of compensation, discount, reimbursement, or anything else to even ATTEMPT to make this right. I will take my business elsewhere from now on.
