I use to love coming to this store, today’s experience makes me think differently. I have purchased a few fire arms from this location and all of the staff are usually welcoming. Today’s experience was not so great. I went in and brought a relative with me. There was a employee I have not noticed before until today. I guess he may have been the only one available at the time we were there. I’m not sure if it’s cause we were of color or what but the nastiest looks we got from him. When we asked to look at certain fire arms he also gave us this look that he did not want to help us. We also asked for information on certain fire arms and he shrubbed his head that he did not know any details on what we were asking. My relative also asked if he can look at something he wanted me to give back the other fire arm before he can help my relative, he kept giving us a look of disgust to the point where I said let’s go. I am use to having a certain amount of racism when entering some fire arm stores but it was bare able. Today made me feel so uncomfortable in my own skin. I don’t expect everyone to understand what I’m feeling about writing this but I personally am disgusted. I reached out to the manager via phone and explained that I did like coming to store cause usually the employees are cool and very informative and hence why I brought someone else to buy another fire arm for themselves. The store manager which to the best of knowledge I was speaking to heard my concern and simply said his guys are good guys I must have had some kind of miscommunication with the employee. Well body language speaks a lot you would know when you are highly uncomfortable. If there’s was any verbal miscommunication we’ll I guess I must have gotten that from a employee who really did not even say a word to us. After discussing this and trying my best to explain how I felt, I truly felt this manager may have just brushed this under the rug due to the fact “ I may be wrong on how I’m feeling “ how can someone make you feel that your wrong for feeling uncomfortable especially knowing the fact I have purchased at this location numerous times and I have never felt like that. Again I even brought someone with me as a way to buy more from this store. My whole point to this is why should I feel guilty for being in a store that sells guns. Why should I felt disgusted by the way we...
Read moreAWESOME indoor shooting range and shop. Everyone was very friendly and had two range/employees watching the range at all times, very safe. Best place in Fort Myers, FL and farther to shoot. You can bring your own ammo and targets, ammo needs to be new (not reloaded). They charge $15 per hour to shoot but time wise isn't really strict so if you go over no big deal, they only stay firm I guess if people are waiting. I shot for 1.5 hours for the $15. They have quite a few lanes to shoot from too, must have been like 12-15. AC is nice as well. Ear and Eye protection is free and if you need it, there ammo prices are actually pretty good.
I originally went to Fowler Firearms and it was horrible, they were so rude/stuck up. The range isn't bad, has about 5-6 lanes and AC but you have to buy there ammo $$$$ and if you bring your own targets they need to be 24" wide. They nail you on the ammo price big time, and to shoot guys are free range time and gun rental on Friday and Ladies I think are Thursday, otherwise it's pay for range time and gun rental if need be ($10-$25). I had a far, far better experience at Shoot Straight and brought my own ammo and targets.
Cecil Webb is an outdoor range, it's pretty far away from Fort Myers, bring your own stuff and it's like $3 per person to shoot or $6 per car load. Reviews are horrible, everyone says the range officers are rude and safety isn't always up to par, that kinda freaked me out, reviews said people pointed guns down range when it was suppose to be "cold" and people are changing targets, girlfriends are waiving the boyfriends gun around, etc. Not worth the risk!!!
Haven't been to Naples gun range but again, it's the same, you have to buy there ammo.
SHOOT STRAIGHT is the place to go for sure, they have memberships too for...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped in to Shoot Straight Ft. Myers yesterday, When we walked in the front doors, we were immediately greeted and waited on by a young man by the name of Bryce. From beginning to end.....HE WAS NOTHING LESS THAN AMAZING. Knowledgeable, courteous, and above all to us....HONEST. He DIDN'T lie to us. It's a big deal these days sadly. Of interest: No gun shops in a radius of 2 hours from our home in Naples had a Kel Tec PMR30 pistol in stock....and couldn't tell me when they would have one to sell me. SHOOT STRAIGHT.....had "7" of them in stock!
Not only that....but they even gave me a sale price on one!
Bryce knew everything about the gun......and what it came with. It's kind of an obscure gun....so knowing a lot about one is unusual.
Everyone in this store were courteous . I had experienced a very embarrassing and aggravating experience purchasing a pistol last year at a large gun store in "North Naples" , Florida. Apparently, the "sales person" had some personality conflict with me.....and wanted me to know it. He continually found microscopic issues with my penmanship in filling out the Federal background check. I have NEVER had this happen before, or since. The "sales person" ....was a loser and really didn't belong working with the public....but he was. I walked out without buying the gun, and needless to say.....I won't buy guns or anything there ever again. The experience was inexcusable.....as well as amateur.
In comparison.....I didn't seem to have any penmanship issues at Shoot Straight ......and was walking out the door with the my new gun, after the return of the background check.....in short order. (The way that it SHOULD be.) A GREAT STORE with a GREAT...
