I recently had a thoroughly disappointing experience with the AT&T 'authorized' retailer in Fort Oglethorpe, and I feel compelled to share my negative experience with others. When I initially contacted this location, they 'quoted' me a seemingly reasonable price of $108 for two lines, including trade-ins for two iPhones. However, my experience quickly soured.
Upon receiving our phones, we were shocked to discover unexpected charges of $65 and $84 on top of a phone bill of $236. We were not informed of these additional costs during our initial interaction, leaving us feeling deceived and frustrated. The lack of transparency and hidden fees are inexcusable.
What made matters worse was the retailer's decision to add on the "next upgrade" feature, despite our clear statement that we did not want it. This blatant disregard for our preferences is not the kind of service one should expect from a reputable provider like AT&T.
To add insult to injury, the retailer insisted that we had to purchase phone protection and assured us that we could remove it later. However, upon reaching out to AT&T's customer service, we learned that we were not required to opt for phone protection. This misinformation and false insistence on add-ons is unethical and reflects poorly on the retailer's integrity.
What infuriated me the most was the revelation that this establishment is not even an official AT&T store but merely an authorized retailer. This distinction is not adequately conveyed to customers, and it leaves a bad taste in one's mouth when you realize that you have been dealing with a third-party entity rather than the actual company.
Lastly, I'm not entirely upset with the employees; they are probably using those practices for commission or under managers' orders for quotas.
In conclusion, my experience with the AT&T authorized retailer in Fort Oglethorpe was riddled with hidden charges, disregard for customer preferences, and misleading information. I strongly advise potential customers to think twice before engaging with this establishment and to consider seeking services directly from AT&T to avoid the frustrating and deceptive practices that I...
Read moreI purchased a new s24 ultra from this store back in February this year. I'm a long time customer. I was told the price was $1299, which with trade in of $800, should be $499 divided by 36 months is $13.86. My bill before the new phone was $234.18, so plus the $13.86 would be 248.04. But it wasn't. I was charged an extra $120 for the 512k which I was not told about when I bought it. And I was charged a $6.00 monthly fee for early trade-in if I wanted that, which I didn't. Also, every phone I pay for was jacked up 99 cents for the monthly service, also without one word from the girl helping me. That left me paying $261.87 a month instead of the $248.04 I had budgeted and when you're a senior citizen on a fixed income that is considerable. So I took my bill to the store today 4-23-24 to see what could be done. The lady who helped my before, Mia, was there and was trying to fix the problem when another lady, Harley, piped up while I was complaining about what happened and said that I would have to log in to my account and fix it myself. I said that's ridiculous, that I didn't cause the issues and that they needed to do it. I said she was lackadaisical and she asked what that meant and I said look it up. I then asked to speak to the manager who was in the back. When she, Kennedy, finally made an appearance, she was surly and unprofessional. I said I would never buy another phone there and when this one was paid off I"d switch service. All she could muster was an okay. These were the most unprofessional women I have ever encountered. I suppose I'll have to wait another month to see if my account was fixed or not. I doubt it. I would recommend not shopping at this store for anything. They will lie or "forget" to tell you what you're paying for and then get upset when you come in to complain and ask for a fix. It looks like they only care about the sale and not the service....Don't shop here if...
Read moreDid not have a good experience at this location. The first associate was great and helpful, but I was passed to his associate, Oz, and it went down hill from there. Firstly, I knew what phone I was wanting to upgrade to, but the associate was being to insistent and pushy about getting a higher, more pricey model. I get that - I get they need to ask, but after I explain my reasoning and insistence, stop. He wouldn't drop it and had a different associate trying to push it too. Then, he went to the back to grab the phone I wanted and came back claiming they were out completely. When I asked if he could check the stock of the other, nearby stores as I was willing to drive there - he became annoyed, shrugging it off, claiming they'd very likely be out too, and wouldn't check before starting to try to force the upgraded model again because they have plenty of those in stock. I argued the price difference being a big difference for me which he ignored. When I asked about how long I might expect to wait if my phone was ordered, he shrugged, guessing at random days - again, why couldn't he check? I left the store after that and made my way to a different location. Not even 10 minutes later, while I'm driving, Oz calls me, leaving a voicemail - miraculously, just after I left, a truck came in with a full stock of the phones I wanted. Yeah okay...
I got to the Hwy 153 location - they were super helpful, stocked with the phone I wanted, and provided excellent customer service. Despite the location being more convenient for me, I will not be returning to the Fort Oglethorpe store and do NOT recommend this location. Go to the Hwy...
