I am sad to even have to write this, because I wanted to give this place another shot. My husband ordered a full vegan lineup for me so I could try a few things, only to return home with all three dishes covered in cheese and sour cream. We called them back to explain the mix up, and somehow, they had inputted vegetarian instead of vegan. This exact thing happened to me the last time I ordered from this place, so I was more than a little annoyed. I have a major autoimmune disease that flares up when I eat animal products, so this is a serious allergy that I can't just ignore when I eat out. They offered to remake the food, but when my husband picked up the order and brought it home a second time, we found the replacement enchilada haphazardly thrown together, tortillas torn, doused in oil, barely containing anything at all, and absolutely no sides.... it was absolutely inedible. The replacement tacos were not as botched, but also barely contained any veggies, so it was really not worth driving across town for a second time to fix... AGAIN. Even more alarming was the fact that, a few days ago, I actually ordered the vegan tamales from this place, and I noticed a white sauce on those that looks just like the one on the enchiladas that I received today. With the tamales, I called and asked them if it was some type of dairy-based sauce, but they assured me that it wasn't. Now, I'm seeing that these horribly bare, disgusting looking "enchiladas" no longer have that same sauce on them, and I have to wonder if the sauce in the tamales WAS actually a dairy sauce, and I feel completely violated. Was I lied to initially? Now I can't even trust what I'm being told by the staff! I've included a picture of the flautas we ordered to illustrate what my original order looked like (those were supposed to be remade to be vegan as well, but I must not have communicated that well, because we only got enchiladas and tacos back with the remade order). We had already disposed of the enchiladas before I was able to take the pic, but they looked almost identical in terms of the sauce and the sides. The second pic is what I received as the remade order (The only difference between the enchiladas and the flautas that I noticed was the fact that there were 2 enchiladas and 3 flautas). There is zero pride or consideration in the second version of this meal. The full dish wasn't even remade - not even lettuce or pico was included! Maybe the beans contained some allergen, but those weren't included, either. If some of the sides contained allergens, why was no effort made to substitute them for sides that were OK to make this dish a suitable alternative? How could anyone take pride in selling this food to anyone? Does your Vegan menu just mean you're provided with oil doused veggies and a greasy tortilla? I feel like my money was stolen, my husband's time was wasted driving back and forth to get this fixed (but not really fixed), and even more than that, I feel that a local business that proudly offers a proclaimed Vegan menu should not be making major mistakes like this in the first place. If you can't make the food well, don't offer it at all. These enchiladas went straight to the trash after I opened them and they fell apart upon touching them. I gave up at that point. We will absolutely never be returning to this establishment. It is very clear that the training here, at least around food allergies, is very poor, and I would, again, advise anyone with similar food needs/food allergies to NOT consider this a safe restaurant.

First time eating here, and was greatly disappointed at the service we received: When we arrived, the house was full, the bar had a couple of patrons, and there were two tables that were full in their outside dining area. We were sat outside, which normally wouldn't have been a problem, but because it was late and because of where they set us, we couldn't see our menu as it was too dark and there were not lights for us to see - not a complaint, just something that needs to be addressed. When the hostess sat us, the menus were set on the table and she left without addressing us as she seemed more concerned with her friends that were at the bar. Chips and salsa were served to us immediately, however it took our server upwards of 10 minutes to come and take our drink order. Once the drinks were served, the waitress took our food order and things looked upwards from there. The food and drinks were incredible. I ordered a Pineapple Mezcalrita and the Exclusive Tacos and chose a Oxaceña, the Diablo Shrimp, and the Alambre Taco that were all amazing in their own way (pictured). My wife ordered a Cucumber Cilantro Mojito and the Birilla Tacos which were fantastic. Chef Adrian clearly knows what he's doing and definitely earned the title of Taco Boss! The server came and cleared our table when we were finished, and it took them another 5 to 10 minutes to ask us if we wanted the check. It took another 5 to 10 minutes after that to receive our check.. And then it took another 10 to 15 minutes after that for them to take the payment. As we left, we noticed that the majority of the restaurant was empty, so it was a little confusing to have it taken so long to pay. We absolutely will be back because the food was so good. We are looking forward to having a better experience from the service side.

So taking a look through some of the reviews I'd like to give my input here. Did want to say that I'd like to highly recommend this place for others. Came here during a very rainy day and as soon as you get inside it has a great feel and atmosphere. Love all the hand blown glass all around the dining area. Lighting was really good and honestly the music (which I know has been a talking point before) was at a good level. We were greeted very quickly and got seated. I will say though ac might have been set a little low for where we were sitting. Now to the food we got the Pizza Birria, which I had never head of before so wanted to give it a try. Food came out quick and was very hot. Also chips and salsa were very good (chips might have needed a little more salt for my taste but thats nothing a little salt shaker can't fix). Salsa was chunky and had good flavor. Now back to that Pizza Birria, came with consume and an avocado salsa. Consume was hot and was really good in depth of flavor. The avocado salsa was a really good addition. However I will say if you like spice they don't have a hotter salsa (maybe if I ask enough they might add one lol) all in all food was amazing. So to end all this I can say that we will be back again and very much enjoyed our experience and the food we had. Look forward to trying other things on the menu

I was not impressed. The decor around the bar...was 'ok' along w/the fact they have outdoor seating. Otherwise. I'm not sure after reading the reviews. If we just happened to go on an off night or what. We were seated on the side where the employees seemed to have to travel back & forth from the kitchen to possibly restrooms or where they were going back and forth to and from. It was extremely loud. We were given our menus, then brought chips & salsa. The salsa was good, chips too. Waitress came back to ask what we would like to drink. I ordered a house margarita & my daughter ordered a whiskey sour. Waitress came back promptly with 2 small glasses of ice water with ice like sonic uses which, I love. So again. I'm thinking ok...minus the seating. We waited, waited & waited. After nearly 30 min. Our drinks came out. Margarita was 1st then about 5 or so minutes later. The whiskey sour. We ask the Waitress once where the drinks were. She stated, 'being made.' So, after getting our drinks. We finally figured out what we wanted. It was very late so we weren't looking for anything too heavy. We ended up ordering plates because it didn't seem to matter what was ordered. Either way the bill would be almost $50. It took longer than expected for 2 quesadilla, 2 small bowls of rice & quac. Sadly, it just wasn't what we had hoped. We wanted Mexican food so bad, yet didn't want to wait in lines ranging at different places from 25 minutes to an hour. So, next time. We will wait & be patient as well as get there earlier. Lesson learned on being inpatient lol as far as the Waitress. She was young, soft spoken & nice. She stayed very busy too. We noticed the 2 guys at the bar that appeared to be making drinks. Didn't know what to do. So again, not sure if we just happened in on an 'off' night or what. One of the guys behind the bar was also on his cell phone. But...maybe he was asking how to make a drink, or maybe calling or trying to call some help in. Either way. Unprofessional in my opinion. Before anyone things I'm just giving a terrible review. I never give bad reviews. I don't say anything bad even if my experience wasn't the best. Yet I do explain whatever unpleasant or Unprofessional experience I may have had while being a paying customer. Didnt appear they had a whole lot to work on, and they were very busy. Lots of business was coming in & going out. So again, maybe we just went on...

BEWARE OF YOUR CHECK!!! PRICE GAUGING!!! How does two plates of rice and cheese cost $24.00?!?! I ordered a side of rice with cheese for my 13 year old daughter and she wanted another after she finished the one. I got my bill and they charged me for two chicken cheesy rice minus the chicken… someone raise their hand if that makes any sense and said it is the same price no matter how it was ordered because the “cheese dip is gold to them”! I couldn’t get through to the waiter that this was price gauging and there was no manger there conveniently. I called when I got home to speak with a manager and miraculously in 10 minutes from leaving they were there. I explained to them what happened and he kept saying the same thing over and over talking over me every time he asked me to explain. He then said I was yelling because I had to talk over him so I handed the phone to my wife to see if that helped. He claimed she was yelling also, which she wasn’t. Instead of putting the difference back to the card he had on file he made me drive back for a $10 refund thinking I would say no. The owner came out and said the manager walked out the back door scared and I said there was no reason for that. The waiter actually had my back and said I was very nice to him the entire time I was there. I just wanted to be listened to. I even left a good tip in spite of the confusion because he was just in the middle. When I walked back in to get my refund he admitted he misunderstood and was sorry for the confusion. Why he could not do that while we was there is unknown to me. The food is great but I will never return. Just pay attention to your check. I recommend El Cactus they have always done us right.

Edit to owners response: The owner claims I cussed but I didn’t. He thinks a lot of himself obviously by his response. No one is intimidated by...
