This is a successful small business in the revitalized section of Fort Pierce, FL. The building is quaint like the rest of the thriving downtown buildings, and tonight the restaurant facade was decorated with twinkly strands of lights and stars for the upcoming December holidays. Inside booths and tables were full of out of town families mixed with locals enjoying fresh sushi and other Pan-Asian dishes. Scurrying about, the servers were taking orders and delivering steaming plates of food and colorful plates of sushi as fast as they could go.
Our friend assured us that everything she had ordered here has been great. She brought her mother here this past week.
We had the Pad Thai, Chicken Wings, Mexican Sushi Roll, Special Fried Rice, and Spicy Beef Salad (see photos). As predicted, everything was great. They didn’t skimp on any of the ingredients.
The Pad Thai was really good, with a sweet sauce nuanced with possibly tamarind, and lots of toasted peanuts and crunchy bean sprouts. The crunch of the bean sprouts fooled me into feeling like there were deep fried crunchies in it. It had large shrimp in it and delicious noodles and scrambled eggs. The whole dish was greater than the sum of its parts. I think the peanuts made it so great. Oh, and it wasn’t spicy at all.
The menu had Thai, Chinese, Japanese and Malaysian components. I’d say the Special Fried Rice was a good rendition of American House Fried Rice with wok-fired beef and shrimp. The sushi was a roll containing crunchy tempura shrimp, cucumber, cream cheese, avocado and a drizzle of what looked like Yum Yum sauce. The chicken wings were battered, deep fried and dipped in a mildly spicy sweet sauce. The Spicy Beef Salad wasn’t very spicy after all and contained strips of tender beef mixed with cucumbers, red onion, chopped tomatoes and a Patis-style dressing.
I’d love to go back and reorder everything we...
Read moreThis is truly one of the worst dining experiences I have had in an incredibly long time. To begin with, the service was not bad, it was not terrible, it was not horrible, it was absolutely disastrous. The waiters are downright rude. All they want is for you to be gone as quickly as possible. They are unwilling to help with anything and quick to snap at you for asking, well, anything really. Our waitress in particular forgot to order the tea we asked for 5 TIMES!!! The tea did not come until after the main course had been served. And then, when it was served, she acted as if she was doing us a favor by bringing it out at all.. If you enjoy being treated like dirt this is a great place to go! Now, I'm willing to put up with most of this if the food makes up for it, but they definitely failed here too. They have gone for quantity over quality. The food was absolutely disgusting. It all tasted dry. It was all overcooked. The sushi was falling apart. It was absolutely terrible. I will without a doubt never return to this establishment again, and definitely DO NOT recommend...
Read moreBy far one of the best Thai restaurants in the state of Florida! I've been here twice and everything was better than I expected every time! They won't disappoint you, and go above and beyond to keep the customers satisfied. We have never had to wait for a table even during the regular dinner rush either. I really appreciate the variety of thai items as well as the extensive sushi menu and other dinner options. I personally recommend the Hawaiian deluxe dinner item which is serviced in a Pineapple cut in half with fresh vegetables, shrimp, & scallops, and it just melts in your mouth! Last time we got a sushi boat for two which was pretty awesome and was more than enough for 2 people. The wonton soup is the best I've had, they put fresh vegetables and springs onions with the wontons which adds a lot more flavor than others I've had. The springs rolls are good as well as the spicy tunarolls, salmon, and hand rolls. I...
