A Culinary Treasure in Downtown Fort Pierce
For our 24-year-old daughterās birthday, there was no hesitation when we asked where sheād like to celebrateāāHappy Garden Cafe!ā she declared. Being newcomers to Fort Pierce ourselves and eager to explore the local food scene, my wife and I were excited to oblige.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. The ambiance of Happy Garden Cafe is as eclectic as its menu, blending elements of Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Filipino, and other Asian cuisines into a unique dining experience. The place itself feels like a delightful fusion of a coffee shop, sushi bar, and Chinese restaurant, all rolled into one charming setting.
We started with a couple of appetizers: coconut fried shrimp and shrimp shumai (steamed dumplings), paired with the Aburi Poke Tart, which featured spicy tuna and salmon. Each dish was an explosion of flavorāsimply amazing!
For the main course, we shared a generous bowl of roast pork wonton ramen. The rich broth was complemented by tender roast pork, delicate wontons, and perfectly cooked pieces of bok choy. The flavors were harmonious, and the absence of noodles made the dish light yet satisfying. The portions were large, and we enjoyed sharing everything family style.
No birthday dinner would be complete without dessert, and the Yuzu cheesecake did not disappoint. Imagine a delicate lemon custard sitting atop a light-as-air cheesecake disk, surrounded by a bed of finely-ground graham cracker crumbs, with a luscious ribbon of raspberry sauce on the side. Each bite was so delectable that we couldnāt help but close our eyes and savor it fully. Yes, it was that good!
Happy Garden Cafe is a culinary gem on Floridaās Treasure Coast, and we canāt wait to return to explore more of their delightful menu offerings. If you havenāt been yet, put this charming spot at the top...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had a wonderful dinner at The Happy Garden and will definitely return! The food was absolutely excellent ā fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Our server was attentive and friendly, and the dessert was fantastic. The space is very clean with stylish decor; if I didnāt know better, Iād think I was dining in New York or LA.
A couple of small notes for future guests: when we arrived (without a reservation), we were surprised to be asked if we had one, especially given that several tables were empty ā it created a brief awkward moment in what is otherwise a very casual and welcoming spot. Also, later in the evening, the live keyboard music became quite loud, making conversation a bit challenging.
Overall though, this is a gem of a restaurant and well deserving of its five-star reviews ā just a couple of tweaks would make it perfect. Iām excited to come back! (Posting a few photos too ā everything looked as good...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis new restaurant in downtown is a great addition to Fort Pierce. The larb was very tasty. A little spicy for me but had a good taste. My friend got the marinated chicken. It was probably one of the best chicken breasts I have eaten in awhile. It was moist and tender. The sauce was delicious. My boba tea was just the right amount of sweetness and the bao buns were spot on. The service was excellent and the ambiance was nice. I would definitely recommend this place especially if you are tired of the same old Asian food and want to try something new and exciting.
8/25 I returned again, this time it was even better than the last time. Every that was ordered was so fresh. I had the chicken and shrimp bowl. The flavors were so yummy. The coconut chai tea was so good. The crepe cake was so lite and delicious. The waiter was so helpful and attentive. I love the zen atmosphere. They definitely deserve the 5...
