I scheduled a Lasik consultation back in April. This clinic was suggested to me by my optometrist along with a few other Lasik clinics. I had an initial phone consultation before my appointment. During that phone consultation I was told conflicting information. At first I was told that I could wear my contacts up to the day of my in-person consultation. I questioned the woman on the phone about this since other Lasik clinics that I had gone to told me I must be out of my contacts since I wore toric lenses. The woman told me she would double check and then proceeded to tell me that the other clinics were right that I do need to be out of my contacts for one week before my in-person consult. That information conflicted with the time frame that the other Lasik clinics told me of needing to be out of my lenses for two weeks. I let the woman know that and informed her I would feel more comfortable with an appointment two weeks out of my lenses. She obliged.
The day of my in-person appointment did not go any smoother. I was greeted by the receptionist who asked for my name and then asked me to pay for my appointment up front. I told the receptionist that I was there for a free Lasik consultation. She apologized for the mistake. Next, the assistant taking my eye measurements was not friendly or very talkative with me from the get go. I told her how my phone consultation gave me some reservations about even showing up for the in-person appointment. The assistant got verbally defensive with me and was not willing to see how that would be a concerning situation. Strike 3 at this point for me with Icon Eyecare.
The optometrist came in, Dr. Nervick, and she was immediately a breath of fresh air compared to the other members of the front office staff I had encountered. She took the time to go over my results and explained the difference between PRK and Lasik. I felt comfortable telling her my experience with the original phone consultation and she listened and provided validation for my concerns. I ultimately decided to go with another Lasik company due to my poor experiences with the front office staff. Front office staff are the face of a company and it was not a good look for Icon Eyecare in Lonetree. The one star is for Dr. Nervick who was the only saving grace of...
Read moreI scheduled an appointment to be seen for a possible eye infection. I initially loved Dr. B and the staff. This review is unfortunately for the disorganization of the front desk and scheduling staff. I scheduled a 1-week recheck before leaving my appointment. I received a reminder text confirming my recheck appointment. I then received 2 other texts, with different doctors and different times. I called and left a voicemail stating my confusion and requested a call back. The next day, I had not heard back and received yet another text for a different time with Dr. B. I called immediately as the time did not work for me. I am not sure why appointments would be changed via text rather than calling the patient directly. They told me on the phone that time was the originally scheduled time. I argued, stating it was not and I have a text stating the original time I scheduled. I requested someone from scheduling call me back, as I believe I was speaking to a tech. The scheduling team called me back stating that Dr. B would see me at my requested time. It was not my requested time, it was the time I originally scheduled. I explicitly asked, "So when I arrive, I will not have to wait until the time you have on your schedule. I will be seen at the time I scheduled, correct?" She stated that was correct. I arrived several minutes prior to my scheduled appointment today and was told they were behind and 3 patients were ahead of me. Why would reception not call patients to inform them of a delay prior to arrival? I drove all the way there only to leave because I could not wait that long due to work. I then asked to reschedule with Dr. B at another location. The soonest available is 2 weeks from now. I was offered to see another doctor, but this is for a recheck with Dr. B, who I liked and preferred to see, since she was familiar with the issue. I will now be seen for a recheck almost a MONTH after my originally scheduled appointment. What is the point? The terrible scheduling issues and lack of communication has unfortunately given me a negative impression of...
Read moreDon’t get EVO ICL if you don’t want visual freedom! I wore glasses since age 7 and contacts since 14 (I’m 44 now). I wasn’t a candidate for LASIK and too scared to consider PRK due to witnessing a co-worker’s difficult recovery. I thought I had to accept using contacts and glasses for the rest of my seeing life but thank GOD for ICL and Dr. Kim! Within 30 min, probably sooner, I could see! I’m post-op day 1 and I get emotional knowing that I have visual freedom! I’m free from all the inconveniences and hinderances that come with contacts and glasses!
The consultation process was at the Denver office and quite lengthy (several hours). Make sure not to wear contacts for a week or at minimum, 3 days, for an accurate examination. I had to come back for testing bc I wasn’t made aware of that. Also, dilating is highly recommended so bring a driver if you know you won’t be able to drive afterwards.
The surgery center is in Lonetree. It is clean and operates VERY efficiently. The clinic for follow ups is on the second floor. Also very clean and efficient.
About Dr. Kim--the best part! Not only is she gifted and skilled, she is a literal angel on earth! Beautiful inside and out! She genuinely loves and cares about you and wants the best for you. Her passion and pride in what she does is so evident, you immediately have a sense of calm and confidence to let her do her magic on your eyeballs. I am so fortunate and so blessed! Thank you Dr.Kim for the gift of seeing and thank you team ICON (techs, optometrists, finance/scheduling, surgical team) for such a...
