Terrible experience! Non working puzzles! My friends and I did the united escape of America room. I will say the room was well designed and the employees are friendly, but that is where the good ends. First unlike normal escape rooms I have done in the past there is an employee in the room with you at all time resetting the room while you are playing completely removing the immersion of the room. Second we had 4 separate puzzles not work in the room. First we got to a trap door that was supposed to open and were told it not working so the guide was going to manually open it. Second we got to a spot with two locks and the guide said we got the code right, but the lock simply would not open. 5 minutes later the guide tells us they got flipped during setup so she will open it for us. Third there was a spot where we had to shoot targets with ball guns. They gave us two guns to speed up the process, but one was jammed and the guide was unable to I jam it during the game. Finally there was a puzzle that has you use switches in a sequence. We thought we had it right, but it wouldn’t open so we moved onto another puzzle. 10 minutes later the guide told us we had the switches right and the puzzle just wasn’t working and again had to manually open it. Most puzzles required the guide to either step in to help operate or step out of the room to manually activate. This was overall a poor experience and I will not be coming back. Friendly staff and well themed rooms do not make up for non working puzzles that just waste your time. Save your time and money and go elsewhere where you can get a better room at the same price...
Read moreThis one is a hard one to review. Out of the 3 rooms we did today (only one with Extreme Escapes), the Dash for Cash room was my favorite. I am leaving a 3 star review mainly because a handful of puzzles were broken and 2 of the locks were not locked before the game started. While they were fixing these things during our game, our time was never paused and an apology was never given for these things going wrong. We started to feel like we were not going to escape towards the end because of these. We were told on a puzzle towards the end that it would take 10 minutes to get the numbers on a puzzle when we had 6 mins left so we were given the numbers. I don't mind being given the numbers, but a puzzle that takes 10 minutes to fully solve is unacceptable. I will say that I loved our game master, Rae. They helped us out to ensure that we escaped and seemed empathetic towards the things that went wrong. And while they have a 4 person minimum to play with them, they let us play with just 2 which was very appreciated (you still have to pay for 4 players though, which we did not mind doing ((although we did mind a small bit after just because of the malfunctions and set up errors)). I wish I could give 5 stars to Rae, the game master, 2 stars to the room because of the problems, and 3.5 stars to Extreme Escapes overall (mainly for not apologizing and not trying to make up for having someone enter our on going game and fix things).
I would love to change this to 5 stars in the future, and we will definitely be back to try out the other rooms. I just hope we won't have similar...
Read moreI've been to probably over 100 escape rooms in a dozen countries and this place is one of my favorites! It's easily the best escape room in the Nashville area hands down. We just did our 4th room here and I think I can now put a finger on why this place is just better than the other spots around here. First, there is a charm to having someone in the room with you popping up in unexpected spots, writing down quotes, and calling you by your codename that right away gives a different vibe from other escape rooms (and while it seems all the staff are great, if you can get Robert or Nick you're extra lucky). Second is the actual design of the puzzles in the rooms. Without giving away any secrets, it seems that most of the rooms we've played here have many things that can be done at the same time so it's not just open lock #1, open lock #2, etc. There are a lot of moments where even if there is one main puzzle a couple people are working on there is still something else people can do. Also there is always a variety of puzzle types and i think every room we've done has some form of my favorite puzzle type, the physical game (where you literally need to physically accomplish something rather than just get the right code for a lock). Anyway, this review is too long, just go to this place, it's more than worth it! Best escape room in...
