We were absolutely delighted with the stage performance of The Wizard of Oz. In my younger days I had been to such live performances as Mikhail Baryshnikov in The Nutcracker, a very high brow precise work; but I would have to say the venue, the play and the actors/crew and all associated with the performance made it a truly wonderful laid back experience that was a delight from the start of Act I to conclusion. Prices were extremely reasonable and well worth our travel from Rutherfordton. My only issue at all was people, in spite of being told no flash or other photography were sneaking pictures of various moments, their screen illumination being a distraction to those behind them. As a member of the audience I would like to have seen a statement of "using any photo equipment/cell phones to record any portion of this performance may result in being removed from the theater." May sound harsh but the entire performance only saw 3 people sneak pictures, 2 of which were specific and no doubt someone they knew in the performance; but a woman 2 seats in from of us was doing it throughout the performance and even when told it was annoying ... well her response is why I used woman versus Lady. In the past we have sat in various areas and not really any bad seats in the house or areas where sound is an issue. Would definitely...
Read moreOur family enjoys this venue ! It is just small enough to be intimate and large enough to accommodate a nice crowd. The sound quality is consistently good and seating is comfortable. We have viewed shows from all over "the house" and have never been disappointed. We appreciate the variety of artists who play this venue...from Don Williams....to Kevin Cosner... to Jason Crabb. The parking is ample and even if we have to park in the overflow lot the shuttle is quick and efficient. We rarely get concessions, but when we do, we find the prices to be very reasonable and service efficient. The restrooms are easily accessible and always clean. There are elevators to the balcony in case you don't feel like navigating the stairs. After we see a show, I always go home and start "shopping" for the next one. Don't delay...grab...
Read moreThis is such a great place for live shows. Whether it's a play like The wizard of or an up close and personal concert from one of their many musicians. The seating capacity is only 1500 so it's not like you have to deal with big crowds. The seats were fairly comfortable pretty much your standard theater going chairs. There's also a snack stand here with popcorn and goodies along with soda pop and other delightful treats. They also have a dedicated coffee bar which is really nice 🙂. The ticket price was quite reasonable. I Saw The wizard of Oz and got orchestra third row for $18. A large popcorn and large soda set me back a measly 8 bux. And I have to throw this in the production of The wizard of Oz was done quite well. There is also...
