Jack the Dipper Ice Cream Franklin, NC — Restaurant in Franklin

We all visited Jack the Dipper Ice Cream in Franklin, NC this weekend and we were pleasantly surprised! I will say right upfront it was a little hard to find, the entrance is at the same building as The Factory. When we walked in we were taken back by the amount of flavors they had available! I was hoping to see home made ice cream but they serve Hershey's ice cream which is a very good quality and stored at the PERFECT temperature so it made up for not having home made. I got a milkshake made with the Honey Roasted Peanut Butter ice cream and Moose Tracks mixed along with some chocolate syrup! The texture was perfect and the mix was right on the money! They make fresh waffle cones which was really cool to see them do! The serving sizes are very generous which was a plus! My wife got a chocolate peanut butter milkshake that was mixed perfectly and tasted very good as well! Google Maps had a hard time getting us to this place, but we finally found it. (Unmarked driveway seems to be an extension of Belden Circle, east of 441.) Luckily, it was worth every bit of the effort to find. JTD features Hershey ice cream, which I consider the very best commercial ice cream. (You'd really need to go to a "creamery" to get better.) I got the medium waffle bowl (choice of 2 waffle flavors) and the very nice attendant cooked the waffle bowl right before my eyes. Then filled it with Caramel Crunch which was absolutely delicious. I did have to wait, but when it was my turn the attendant was totally focused on me and my order. She was extremely pleasant and very helpful.

Very clean and spacious. The attendant washed her hands between each customer, wore gloves and mask. Signs on the door and marks on the floor kept everyone safe. Tables were generously spaced.

Hairy Icecream.

Had gone in with the family, 2 kids cups, and 2 snall adult cups. Young girl working was nice. However when eating nephew noticed hair in his ice cream, we thought it was one of the girls in the family. Then Im eating mine and find hair in it as well and the 2 girls in the family didnt touch mine.

I reached out to the company via facebook and all I got was a 👍 in response to letting them know. Not even an apology that their product was contaminated. I wasnt going to harass the girl as shes looks to be in high school, just unprofessional of the business, plenty of better and cheaper...
