Reporting safety hazard and negligence in Kidtopia Indoor Play Center, located at 4620 Auto Mall Pkwy, fremont, ca 94538.
The counter of the ice cream truck has sharp corners sticking out about one foot to the pathway, and the height is at about a toddlerâs eye level. Dangerous! My daughterâs forehead was injured by the sharp corner when she played in that area. She got a very deep dent on the forehead, and a big dark blue bump, which might leave a scar. Two other moms witnessed the accident and notified the employee immediately. One male employee came and said: âoh, it happened a lot! We put the corner bumpers on and the kids always pull them off! â. From what he said, apparently, the management was aware of this safety hazard, but they did not take more effective steps to solve the issue. One mom was so angry about his response so she was practically shaking! She found the owner, the owner checked the corner and simply offered âfree passâ to me, without doing anything to fix the corner! After half an hour, the corner was still exposed. One mom reached the employee again, and she was toldâwe ran out of bumpers!â One hour after the accident, the corner was still exposed. I reached the owner again and suggested her to do something else to prevent further injuries, such as closing down that ice cream truck temporarily or having an employee standing in front of the corner to redirect kids. Still, she did not take any action to fix it. I was so shocked and angry! She simply saidâ I am trying to work out with youâ. She should have been trying hard to fix the safety issue! She seemed like she did not care about whether more kids would get hurt, simply because customers already signed the waiver? !! One and a half hour after the accident, I left the play center, seeing the sharp corner was still not fixed!
I feel the obligation to report this to get immediate correction, or, more kids could be hurt more seriously. And, more important, judging from the managementâs altitudes and negligence towards kids safety hazard, a thorough investigation of the whole center and regular monitoring would be necessary to rule out more potential serious safety hazards, before more kids are hurt seriously!
Two moms who witnessed the whole accident offered me phone numbers and are willing...
Read moreWe came here on a rainy day - we were in that area and searched an indoor play area and this came up in my search. We arrived at 3:30pm - there are 2 hour play slots through the day. Each 2 hour slot was $16.00 (plus $3 if you wanted to get their socks, you don't have to) so we only had 1 hour to play. We could either decide to stay for the hour or wait for the 5 o'clock hour to start. We decided to stay for the one hour and when I was going to pay she asked me are you coming back at five? I said I'm not sure do I have to pay for both slots. To my Surprise I didn't if I stayed for one hour she would prorate my time and give me a discount which I found amazing. Or she could give me wristband so I can come back at five, which I thought was amazing as well! Both options were great! The play area had so many different variety of games and structures and slides. They also have an area with arcades.arcades. While we were here, I noticed that a couple families were having parties and noticed rooms where those parties were held, which seems like a great option for people wanting to host their kids birthday party. I won't fail to mention that there was a stationary wooden ice cream truck that was pretty large. An adult could definitely fit in there or maybe three, I saw about 56 kids there at one time, and they had kitchen and little toys to serve the " ice cream truck parlor guests". My daughter had an absolute blast here and I recommend this spot for any parent wanting to take their kids to an indoor play area whether it's a rainy day or a special birthday...
Read moreWe hosted our son's birthday. Everything was very easy to plan with them, mostly over email and phone. They allow outside food trays at a fee which helps in serving parents of the kids attending the party. We were assisted by 2 employees for setup of decoration, outside food, clean up after the party. They even took pictures at the party for us and were super helpful for all errands we had to do at the time of the party. The kids (aged 2-6) at the party had a great time and were totally tired after the party from playing. Unlike other places, where the party is rushed from room to room, Kidtopia has free play shared by all the parties. It is good if your kid likes to play in a specific area but tends to get crowded with kids of different age groups. I really liked that even though it got crowded, they were cleaning the place the whole time and strictly enforced socks on everyone. There are a lot for kids to do like ball pit, slides, ice cream truck, pretend plays, merry go rounds, etc. But please beware of the meltdown your kid is going to have when leaving this place ;) Totally recommend this place for birthday parties and visit during...
