A Fresno Gem Fresno, unfortunately, doesn't boast a plethora of top-notch parks. However, Del Oro Park truly stands out as a shining exception. This park consistently impresses, offering a fantastic escape for residents, especially those on the west side of the city. While parking can sometimes be a challenge, particularly on weekends due to the park's popularity, it's a minor inconvenience easily outweighed by the park's numerous attractions. The abundance of rules posted throughout the park might seem excessive at first, but they ultimately contribute to a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. Highlights: Beautiful scenery: Lush green spaces, mature trees, and well-maintained landscaping create a serene and inviting atmosphere. Variety of activities: The park offers a diverse range of recreational options, including playgrounds, sports fields, walking/biking paths, picnic areas, and even a dog park. Community hub: Del Oro Park serves as a vital gathering place for the community, hosting various events and festivals throughout the year. Overall: Despite minor parking challenges and a seemingly extensive list of rules, Del Oro Park is an absolute must-visit for anyone living in or visiting Fresno. It's a true gem that provides a much-needed oasis of green space within the city limits. Recommendation: I highly recommend a visit to Del Oro Park, especially on a sunny day. Pack a picnic, bring the kids, and enjoy the beauty and recreational opportunities this fantastic park...
Read moreDamaged equipment, broken parts, missing safety equipment. On site attendant is fully aware of hazards yet does nothing to secure the safety of our children. No caution tape on broken equipment. Seat belts missing on inclusion swings. I'm not sure what is happened to this park but things are broken for months at a time. My 4 year old special needs child was injured on the equipment that was broken. There was so caution or anything suggesting it was no longer safe to use. Something that was supposed to be chained down was loose and swung back at my child hitting her in the head. A huge goose egg and immediate brusing happened. Ended up in a er visit. The attendant stated he knew the equipment was broken for months. No warnings or signs. Offered no help a hen told of the incident. It took a stranger asking about the first aid kit to get a instant ice pack. Took me askin "what are you going to do to fix this" then he called and reported the equipment and finally caution taped it off. Unacceptable. This is advertised as a inclusion special needs park. The standard of safety should be the most...
Read moreThis is a great park with so much to offer. Very family friendly and wheelchair accessible. There is a play area for younger children and another play area for older children. They both have a sandbox, jungle gym, slides, and more. There are swings available for various ages. There is also a little maze, basketball courts, and lots of room on the grass for activities. If you're looking for a nice space under a tree to have a picnic, you will most likely find one. There is a gated off lake with ducks and geese. There are restrooms in the front and an attendant there if you have any concerns. There could always be improvements. Duck and geese droppings can be a bit overwhelming at times, as some people feed them regardless of the signage prohibiting it. And every once in a while, some guests can be somewhat offputting. But, overall it is a great park. It is still my favorite and I would definitely...
